"We called in for a couple of drinks to cool down outside on a sunny summers day to have the three young girls behind the bar seeming sick of their lives. The one girl with glasses that served me my drink was friendly, the others were horrible. There was a clear atmosphere as soon as we entered. When my friend ordered a large glass of Pinot Grigio she was met with a roll of the eyes and a sigh. She was extremely rude to not only our party but every costumer. Not a word was said. No please thank you or anything. When another gentlemen tried to order he was met with her just nodding her head at him it even looking up from making drinks. I’ve never known anything like it. Young waitresses with a attitude like this give us a bad rep in general and then we all get tarred with the same brush. In these challenging times, staff are lucky to be in a job and should be grateful for the position they’re in."

"I was a bit apprehensive about visiting during a busy half term after reading the reviews but The Treehouse Restaurant was fantastic! The building is lovely inside, and there was a great range of options on the menu for kids and adults. The staff were friendly and our service was very efficient and most importantly, the food was great! We wouldn’t hesitate to return."

"Often dread eating out near Christmas as it can often a bit of a disaster. The hotel was very very busy, but they coped really well. Food came quickly, spiced cauliflower soup, then fish and chips. All freshly cooked and extremely good value for money from their standard weekday lunch menu. Staff friendly, efficient, worked really well as a team. Impressed."

"We stopped here on the way to Edinburgh and we were really surprised. Really close to the A1 but the view from the bedroom is on the landscape. Also seaside really close. Good food and really clean."

"I challenge people to find a Sunday lunch to go to in the Consett area. We went to the manor inn as our old neighbors went there every Sunday for lunch for many years. I fully understand why. £20 for two courses is fantastic value. Started with prawn cocktail then lamb roast, which the lamb was cooked to perfection and the veg was oh so tasty. Top top it all the gravy was just fab. I most certainly will give a rating of 10/10 for the food. This will be a more regular visit for us. Please, please do yourself a favor and try the manor inn."
