"We happened upon this restaurant by chance and we were pleasantly surprised! With a simple pick your pasta, pick your sauce, pick your side menu, it was easy to create an amazing combination at a very reasonable price. The owners were very friendly and the food was excellent! We will be back"

"If you can get past the 12 TV screens spread out across the room, this is one of the better pubs in Vancouver: cozy bar, above average pub food (chef seems to care), friendly service, good prices."

"Kind of a hit or miss. I've been here a large handful of times since they're close to me, mostly takeout recently, and tried a good chunk of the vegetarian and fish selection on the menu. Food from best to worst: I absolutely love the Garden Burger the asiago and pecan based patty is a little heavy, but entirely worth it for the amazing texture and flavour. The tacos are pretty good too. I tried the Tuna and the BBQ Jackfruit and thought the jackfruit tasted fresher and was more interesting (but that part is just my taste). The Smoked Salmon Bowl (off the brunch menu) was slightly underwhelming and heavy on the tots and light on the arugula and capers. The hollandaise and cream cheese sauce was a little watery, but I did get this one to go so that may have not been the case if I'd eaten it fresh. But the salmon was fine, the eggs were poached well, and the Cajun seasoning on the tots was nice. The Fish and Chips (both the fish and the chips) was very soggy. This is another one where I'm sure the fact that I took it to go did not help, but I don't think that same meal would have been crispy enough to merit a shining review even if I'd eaten it a little sooner. All of the desserts I've tried were a solid 4.5 stars. I liked the older dessert menu (which had a lovely sticky toffee pudding and caramel pretzel sundae) better than the current selection, but the cheesecake currently on offer is admittedly pretty good it has a fluffy salted caramel mousse on the side which is very tasty and unique. This is a very minor issue when the food all ends up in the same place anyway, but it seems like, when you do takeout, they really just throw the food in the box and do not care. The salmon bowl in particular was some of the messiest arrangement of food I have ever seen. The plating is nice if you dine in.In general, the food is not really worth what you pay for it. Other restaurants in this city that charge comparable prices do higher quality food. The drink menu is great. On tap, they have a few options for just about every major variety of beer and a pretty even balance of local and imported. With Vancouver's strong craft beer culture, it seems like most good bars here feature mostly local drinks which is of course great, but I like that you can try some less common international beers here. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice and it's well maintained. There are some cozy spots inside, and the patio by the plaza fountains, is also nice when the weather is good (it's mostly covered, so it's available as long as the temperature is agreeable). The service is fine also. It's pretty family friendly, even later in the evening."

"Ordered a Lavender Latte, which was very flavourful (but pricey as the lavender add-on is an extra $1). The F.A.B. Salad was a little too vinegary for my taste buds between the vinaigrette and pickled red onions, but did have a decent mix of ingredients with apple and bacon. My companions were happy with their cheese-based entrees, the French Onion Soup and Gooey Cheese Grillers. We were given complimentary house bread and the wait staff was attentive and checked in regularly. After paying, we were not rushed out the door and encouraged to stay as we were still chatting. Really nice bistro to come for some comfort food. They also have happy hour, which we'll try out next time!"

"One does not need to enter Vandusen Gardens to dine in Truffles cafe, but I couldn't imagine why one would stop in if they were not patrons. This cafe is small with much natural light overlooking the front garden entrance. I thought the food was pricey for the quality of food. $4 for an ordinary muffin?!!! Do not expect speedy service. It took a while for my ham and cheese sandwich to arrive, and my companions had almost finished eating. Maybe they were baking the bread bun. Despite the wait for a grilled entree, it arrived cold with the cheese coagulated and over-oozing with sauce. It must have been left sitting on the counter while my tummy rumbled. Disappointing."

"If you have a passion for Montreal Smoked meat, then Dunn's on Seymour, just south of Robson is the place to go to in Vancouver. Authentic. The smoked meat is exactly what you'd expect from a Montreal deli, in your choice of lean, medium or very juicy (more fatty) cuts in either a 4 oz., 6 oz. or an 8 oz. serving. For me, I usually go for the 6 oz medium so I can combine it with either a side of their freshly cut fries, or a side of their wonderful potato salad. Their extensive menu hosts a range of other sandwiches, from pulled pork, to Rueben's, beef dip and more. You'd likely be intrigued by their offering of six different poutines, which start with their fresh cut fries and include their from-scratch beef gravy. I have tried the cheesecake and can attest that is is both authentic and very good."
