"Too bad. The Townhouse was one big favorite on our list for over twenty five years! New management, new food and really bad service... all for $200.00 for two people with the Prime Rib Split 1/2 1/2! Nothing short of a DISASTER. Christmas eve dinner with prime rib... totally RAW. 1/2 of the meat total fat! The horse radish was not creamed and completely impossible to touch. Had the nerve to bring mayonnaise to mix with the horseradish because they had no sour cream to mix it with. The Bombay Gin martini was about four tablespoons full with a huge block of ice in the bottom of the short glass. While the price was good on the drink at $12.00 literally four sips and it was gone! That’s $24.00 bucks right off the top for two drinks. Dismal service, dismal food, and we have given it three tries over the last year with absolutely no success! I’m done and will not return. Sorry for the loss of this once great establishment which nothing remains! Sorry for the bad review but it is what it is. Miserable experience and very, very expensive for what we got!"

"My husband I very much enjoy going to Julia's restaurant before going to Berkeley Rep. It's generally calm, and the food is delicious. Our server, Bella, was excellent in every possible way, and we appreciated everything she did for us; her demeanor is lovely, as is the atmosphere in the room. Sometimes I wish that there were more options on the menu, which stays pretty much the same, but everything else about the experience of being in that room makes my husband and me thoroughly content and happy. Thank you to all the staff at Julia's."

"It was a great experience. I sat at the bar and the bartender was very courteous and accommodating. I had the rose sangria which is not very common. I had the French toast Benedict which was also the first time I heard of it! The food was okay but am not a big fan of French toast so that's the main reason!"

"The quality of the food at this restaurant has gone down from what it used to be a few years ago. I used to come here and everyone would love everything that was ordered. The ingredients used to be fresh and the meal used to be made to order. Now I 'm not so sure. I came here about six months ago and had the steak fajitas, which used to be delicious. Six months ago, the steak tasted terrible. It was not at all the same quality of meat that I was used to from this restaurant. This past visit I came with a party of four, two of whom had never been here and wanted to try it. I opted for the black bean and rajas burrito with chicken. The chicken was ice cold. My friend who also ordered a burrito with chicken had the same problem. We sent them back and got reheated food that tasted reheated. The shell of the burritos were also crispy now, which means it was n a microwave too long or put in an oven without bothering to remove the shell. Either way, that chicken was not good. My boyfriend 's mixed fajitas (steak and shrimp) were ok and our other friend 's sweet potato burrito was good. The Mexican pizza was topped with that same terrible chicken and no one was happy about how it tasted. The cheesesteak empanadas, however, were delicious. Our waiter was very nice and apologized about the burritos, and it wasn 't his fault, but after two poor experiences where the meat has been wrong, I think I 'm done here. It 's a shame because the food used to be really good."
