"Excellent local pub. 2 massive beer gardens. Food is great, beer selection is massive. Live music on the weekends. Been here many times but lost a star due to 1 rude staff member. And they had no ice for my gin and tonic, which isn't cheap."

"We've tried a number of fish and chip shops in Gosport/Fareham area and we keep going back to Mike's. This is by far the best and most reasonably priced chippy around. The staff polite and portion sizes are large."

"Loved this pub, went regularly for lunch with friends, but we were all very disappointed on Monday 12th. Waited nearly 30mins for our drinks and eventually went to the bar to collect them. No vegan mayo. Hadn't had it since the previous Friday! Personally I would have gone to either the local wholesaler or even a supermarket to ensure I had a key item in. Our vegan friend was not impressed, as she had been in a few days earlier and they were still out of stock. The dirty ramekins were the next faux Pas! Completely unacceptable. My steak salad was certainly not worth the money. We will vote with our feet and will not return, which is a real shame as this used to be a gem."

"Don't bother going there. They treat you really bad. We waited hours for our meal and they couldn't understand why we weren't happy. Because we left before getting our meal after waiting for hours we were told we were no longer welcome there."

"I've been going to Golden Star for over 30 years, by far the best Chinese takeaway. My favourite is their Chicken curry,the sauce is absolutely amazing. The bbq spare ribs are a firm favourite of my husband."
