"Popped in for drinks the other night however after perusing the menu we decided to stay for dinner. We ordered the monkfish and the lobster mac and cheese and the food was not only amazing but piping hot too. I will say the food portions...are immense so advise you’re hungry before visiting. Only wish I’d starved myself prior to visiting! Staff are very friendly and very attentive which made the whole dining experience relaxing and enjoyable."

"We reserved a table but no one was there to even sit anyone There was no staff anywhere untill a large queue of people where literally forming out the door Finally ordered My mates food arrived which was a challenger dish within half hour but it then took a hour a half after theirs to arrive .. and that was for a kids meal ffs) Not impressed and when it did come out the chicken was rubbery and the sauce was watery And mash was cold I’d of rather gone to the Toby carvery which in future I shall Upon visting the toilets There was underwear behind a loo and a hazard slip sign in a urinal so clearly the toilets don’t get cleaned or checked every so often throughout the day"

"Not a good experience. The waiter was taking us to a table but then left us to prepare a bill. He then took us to a table and then said it was reserved. We had to wait some while before he took the order. He didn't tell us what the starter and main of the day was. When the food arrived he'd forgotten we asked for bread. The service is 8n essence amateur.. which might be OK except it's pricey. Heaven knows what it's like when there are more than 6 tables."

"Went with some friends for dinner. Well organised but expensive noisy with loud music in the bar. Menu was limited. Two of us had the Asian Broth one sent it back. I persevered but basically tastless veg in very dilute soy sauce with chilli to flavour it. No prob with an immediate refund for the return, hence 3*. On the positive side, the rest of the food was ok although nothing special."

"We went there yesterday really to call in for old times sake and have a drink (It used to be my local about 42 years ago then I think it was called The Marmion Tavern). Staff were very friendly and professional, decided to stay and have lunch we were going to go to a chain restaurant where we had a 40% off voucher on mains) but the Marmion was so welcoming we had lunch and it was amazing. Definitely coming again when we are down from Woking."
