"Dan is one of those restaurants that are barely noticeable from outside and concentrate high quality food and friendly personal service instead of enticing the customer with flashy interior. Staff is really attentive and quick. The menu changes along with availability of fresh ingredients but any dish I have tried was excellent. The atmosphere is very comfortable and simplistic with an open kitchen so you can watch the chef preparing your delicacies. This is definitely one of my favorites in Vancouver and positively sticks out in all its humbleness from all the flashy, "fast-food" Japanese restaurants around."

"We came here by accident yesterday when we were walking down Broadway in the heat. As soon as I glanced in, I knew we were in for a treat! The sashimi, though expensive, was delicious and super-fresh! The karage was AMAZING, with refreshing aoli. The miso rice balls were interesting, though not the highlight. Really glad we stopped by, we'll be back!"
