"Rolled up at lunchtime passing through en route to Swiss Alps. The place looked like the ideal French pavement terrace with plane trees outside, hanging flower baskets in the square. We'e a family of 5 with a dog and the place was heaving. nevertheless, we were found a table, the waitress was superb, but then the maitre d' came over with our water I asked to try the local wine. He brought a selection of bottles for me to try and went through the process and qualities of each (in English). It was brilliant! The food was delicious (plat du jour, though my son went for a steak) the ambience busy and pleasant with what seemed like a mix of locals and tourists, and we left feeling like we'd been treated well and were well fed on quality cuisine. Many thanks to the Aux platanes f making a break in our long journey rather special."
