"Second evening in Freiburg. Cooking in the apartment is not at all recommended. This time we go to the “Landgasthof Bären” (Landgasthof Bären), which has existed for more than 500 years. Here, “Lust is to be freshly prepared daily on typical regional dishes or specialties from the Spanish Alsatian cuisine and, of course, with the best seasonal ingredients from the region”. And we wanted to awaken this desire, because HP also promises to process “local products from the region and from its own production”. That sounds good, so on after tenders (again with my friend's big dog, and that without reservation! The house looks very inviting from the outside, in white and red with gray shutters and a large free staircase of eleven stages each, which certainly does not make the visit for disabled people easy. After the cordial greeting by one of the service ladies we were offered a table under which the dog had good space and also, of course not under, but at the table! The noble-looking menu was delivered to us quickly. My question about the "Ganter Urtrunk" (2,60 € , which had tasted so good yesterday, was hunted and ordered immediately, my girlfriend was as usual a mineral water (2,40 € , both well cooled and quickly brought. My Ganter Urtrunk (2,60 € , an unfiltered natural beer, was served today differently than yesterday, the bottle with the bow down in the glass (see photo . Why? The bottle is first slightly shaken, turned around into the glass and then a little waits until the pulps sink into the bottle neck, so that they are evenly distributed during the indentation and no remainder remains in the bottle. In the map we found a rich offer, only two pages with the recommendations for regional dishes we wanted to choose from. At GG, I had already read Schwarningreien as a “buzz” in various reviews and commented that I had never eaten it before. That should change tonight. So for me “homemade soap with sauerkraut and roast potatoes” for €12.40. After the quantitative experiences of last night, I ordered the court as a senior for 2 € less. You can do that at all main courses, which we really find good! My friend chose “homemade chin bäckle with salad set and peasant bread” for €8.50, while we both had no idea what chin bäckle are exactly and did not ask. Why, too, we wanted something typical bad. A basket with a few thin slices of the baguette and a little gray bread, along with a bowl of spiced quarter was soon placed on our table. The Quark nothing special, the bread dry, the baguette slices too thin and with a large hole in the middle also somewhat older. After the order we had time to look around. The guest room looks bright and friendly with the beautifully covered tables, a whole well-kept country house style that we like well. After a suitable waiting period our main dishes came. Au weia, did I really order a senior? Two large slices of meat, juicy looking, still tender pink, with little fat on the edges, besides from my view abundant sauerkraut and a large bowl full of crispy roast potatoes. The meat was pleasantly pickled, as juicy as it looked, the sauerkraut was still crunchy, but from the seasoning not quite my taste, the roast potatoes could still use some salt and pepper, but were then suitable. And the chinbag? My friend looked a little bit sparing in the face of the lot of fat. Question to the connoisseurs of the Baden cuisine: Do the Kinnbäckle see as a dish in restaurants as always on my photo? The upper pane had the lowest fat content. I later proposed on the net: “Kinnbäckle – smoked pork, very rich, originally intended for the hard-working rural population.” Photos as similar to mine I did not find on the net. My friend carefully seized the few pieces of fat-free ones, found them tastefully good, but as they do not belong to the hard-working rural population, most of them remained on the plate. We didn't imagine that. Perhaps a hint of service would have helped? We had previously said that we had never eaten both dishes. The salad, made with matching sauce for the various ingredients, has tasted good to my friend. I needed a Ramazotti afterwards for relatively expensive €4.20 for digestion, my girlfriend took an espresso for €2.40 (recommendable as she said. The service worked overall attentive, friendly and quick, asked and was very interested in the satisfaction of the guests. The mistakes made by the young trainees during serving and cleaning took place in the neighboring table and were to be deceived. Also in this house we could pay with EC card. How do I evaluate the food? If the chin bäckle is actually the way it was served, and finally, of course, I assume that, out of ignorance, the choice was wrong, so that as for my food I also give a total of four stars. In cleanliness and PLV (until Ramazotti there is nothing to complain, we were satisfied overall."

"We lived here and wanted to get out on Monday. read about this place and wanted to try. all the positive they have written about this place is true. service was personal and always smiling, efficient attentive and friendly. good was good...predicted and tasty to look at. the taste has also not disappointed and meets our expectations. well cooked meat, delicious sauces and the waitress always asked if they needed more. desserts were also fantastic. we will also come back next year and hope they have the same standard."
