"Popped in for lunch while driving further north, this is obviously a popular place and luckily we just before the rush! A warm welcome and a table quickly found and order taken. This is a very nice restaurant, just a few minutes' walk from the main car park. It has a great menu, nothing too complicated, but local and appealing. We were both very pleased with our choice for main, and stayed for a coffee and a shared cake (as the portions are quite generous). There are local paintings, prints, cards and book on sale too. Service was excellent, and all very reasonably priced. Highly recommended."

"88 year old Pensioner ordered a FAMILY treat for elderly 88 years old Pensioners family but we ordered 2 Lamb Jalfrezi and 1 chicken curry as a meal for 3. THE STARTERS WERE COLD!HARD! Popadums missing and it was 1 hr later than promised. Rather than the meal Contractually agreed over the telephone,to our disappointment 2 non-descript chicken curries arrived 1 of which contained chicken that was off ,certainly not what was ordered. We phoned the Take Away Curry house and were met with denial of any error or problem. At this point Mother was near to tears.Mr Singh Jr are you ever going to call us back."

"Popped in for a bit of lunch on Saturday with the family. We had our grandson with us in his pram so the staff made some space for us to have the pram at the table. Very accommodating. Extensive menu for lunch and extremely reasonable pricing. I had the local fish which was delicious and cooked to perfection. My wife had the chicken goujons and she cleared her plate. The son in law had lasagne and he polished the lot off even although it was a large portion. My daughter had a mixed platter which she said was amazing. She had to take some home as the portion was so big. All in all we had a fantastic lunch in a cosy wee pub. The cost made this extremely good value for money. Will definitely recommend the Contented Sole to anyone. Will be back."

"I met with my tante in this beautiful and cozy hidden gem. the service was polite and friendly, without being overlaid and they were treated like a long lost friend. the menu choice was diverse and the food was tasteful and tasteful. it was. a cool day so that we didn't make use of the outside space, but the log burner kept us comfortable in us."
