"Knurrhahn easily leads the pack of fast food restaurants on the beautiful island of Borkum. Its success is not in its entirety based on the quality of its food or the creativity of its menu. Let's face it: It owes most of the glory to...the lack of decent competition. If you have never had fast food before, you will be delighted. That may not be the case for everyone, so don't expect any surprises. Fries are a bit too wobbly and lack decent seasoning. All sauces and dips pretty much taste the same. But any fried fish is a solid choice and well executed. Try the Kibbelinge or a Backfischfilet. And get a Grauburgunder to wash it down with. This place could easily be turned into a legend. Just add a home made chunky curry sauce, bring in something fresh via some tiny ottolenghi salads, add a selfmade mayonnaise, maybe even a tomato chutney and, pretty please, replace the boring wine list with something of structure. You're welcome."

"Were there on Friday for the first time. very rustic equipment from the 70s, but not ashamed, but rather cozy. the waiter was also very accommodating, which is not self-evident in Eastfriesland )-: it was just delicious. we had the scholle finkenwerder art and the scavenger species.We come back in the next holiday in any case."

"Viva italia was the motto of the buffet, but some things to find there were not known in italia. the offered salami mix had nothing to do with the salami I know from italia, but were standard salami or domestic mettwurst strains from Germany. feta and filled wein leaves I have eaten only in Greece. with speck encased dattels I know from Spain.Also the quality of the offered spears could have been better, the "frutti di mare" salat came very watery and fade therefore, the noodles was soft boiled, the gorgonzola sauce was thin and tasteless, the lambragoût was beaten by the lorbeer aroma!"
