"We went for breakfast however it was not great. The coffee quality was poor and overall breakfast sandwich we ordered I could have made better myself. The mushrooms and hash brown on my breakfast tasted almost like it has been heated up from another day it didn’t taste fresh. Overall disappointed"

"In the Alnwick area looking for something for breakfast, spotted the sign and decided to give it a try. The bacon sandwich had plenty of nicely cooked bacon, the scrambled eggs on sourdough was plentyful and excellent quality, and the hot drinks topped everything off nicely. Friendly staff too."

"I tried the Vegan BLT bagel, the Vegan 2 filled bagel (which included delicious beetroot hummus) and soup. The soup, a rich roasted pepper and lentil, was also served with a bagel so was 1uite a substantial lunch. They have vegan cake as well. It is cash only so watch out for that. Visited July 2019"

"Met a friend here for lunch. It was our first time; our friend knew it well. I liked the fact that they had a breakfast menu, a lunch menu, and then a section which was breakfasty food that gets served all day perfect. Our orders were a soup of the day, a bacon sandwich and the avocado with egg, bacon etc on toast. Comments on soup, and bacon sandwich were totally delicious. However, when my avocado came, it was very oxidised and grey. I wondered whether to send it back as I don't like complaining, but I decided that I would. They justified it by saying it all gets smashed at the start of the day then gets piped onto the toast... however, they happily took it back and ten or so minutes later, a whole fresh meal came out and it was totally perfect. I'm so glad I said something as there was no comparison to the first plate. Well done for re cooking everything for me, top quality second time round. very relaxed place, no bookings, but plenty of space to wait. Dog friendly too."

"This was a gorgeous spot for lunch. Initially we had planned on just having a coffee but the atmosphere and counter filled with huge portions of bacon and egg pie, scones and muffins made us change our mind very quickly. One of the things I really liked was the generous sized tables which were well spaced out in the cafe so that you didn’t feel you were cramped or sitting on top of other customers. The waitresses were friendly and attentive smiles count for such a lot and they welcomed us as we walked through the door. We had the baked potato served with cheese, crisps, salad, coleslaw and chutney for under £8 and tomato soup and a hearty prawn sandwich. I would like to thank the staff for making this such a pleasurable stop. The ploughman’s also looked very tempting so I will have to return one day!"

"Stopped for a drink and cup of tea, returned for an early supper. Amazing salad, excellent friendly service, excellent value for money. Only wish we didn’t have to leave so early tomorrow or we would have had breakfast there. Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant."
