"There are two places for pie mash in Romford: Robins and McDowell's. It has been difficult trying to dine at McDowell's because I always get there late and they are closed but I was lucky that day and it was still open so I had to have it even though I was going to dinner. Just another pie mash place I thought but the portions here are big and you get lots of liquor. Trying the liquor first, it was really flavourful and you can really taste the grassiness of the parsley. The mash was just your regular lumpy mash but adding salt and chilli vinegar to it always makes it tastier. Moving on to the pie, the minced beef was actually quite tasty compared to some other places as it was salty and it tasted like there was marmite in it. However the beef was a bit of a let down because there were so many chewy bits, otherwise it would have been perfect because the consistency was good."

"After a 3.5km walk with our dog, we decided to stop here for breakfast (despite the 4 way traffic lights on St Mary's Lane). I don't recall ever having a bad meal from here and today was no exception despite the fact it was busy with cyclists. The service was quick and the food was hot so there is nothing negative to say. The weather really helped so we sat outside but what I didn't understand was how someone we don't know joins our without asking? Another positive is that Puddledock welcomes dogs and I know not all of them are well behaved but to find a dog friendly cafe, is a real bonus."

"Went here for a light lunch with a friend some comfortable armchairs as well at ordinary tables and chairs. The staff are pleasant and the service efficient. Good range of cakes and sandwiches and good coffee!"

"Doner Burger mix, saveloy, and battered sausage. All new to me, and all were great from Nemo's. I love it so much, I came back a couple of times during my stay just a couple of houses down from Nemo's."

"Absolutely heartbroken to be asked to leave when myself and a friend visited today as our babies were crying. I left in tears as any new mum would! They have highchairs and baby changing facilities but are clearly not family friendly. Appalling treatment and disgusting service."

"Had lunch, tuna mayo salad baguette, with a mug of tea (builders). Service was prompt, staff are helpful, and the food was good. There's plenty of choice on the menu. Worth a visit if you're looking for a clean, value-for-money café."
