"The cafe looks a bit dark and gloomy and the decor in the toilet is weird, BUT I had the best ever Brie bacon and cranberry sandwich here. Well cooked and lovely thick bread used to make it. The service was good and it was good value,"

"Wow! John created the most amazing tskeaway sandwiches for our family picnic today. Everyone was amazed at how much filling there was. They were all so, so tasty. We also had a selection of cakes (rock cakes, brownies and Victoria sponge) again amazing. All really fresh and delicious. Shared sone of what we as left over with a friend who bakes semi professionally and she thought the rock cakes were fantastic! Talking hands really is a hidden gem in Hassocks. Really is worth the visit."

"Never before thought we were going in and checking it out. first impression was the friendly staff and then the interior was modern and comfortable. the whole concrete is used on the local products and I tried to get Mexican hot and by golly it was the part of the chips was very generous compared to other almost food sites and the best that I have ever eaten due to the local kartoffels. it is very good to eat and they pay more for the quality they get, but it is worth if they want a qualitysburger."

"Our first ‘inside’ meal since the latest easing of restrictions, and our first visit ever to The Royal Oak. So glad we found you! A warm welcome — and that was not just due to the lovely fire... The staff were attentive, friendly and professional....The seafood linguine was excellent (ask for a spoon—the sauce is delicious) as was the ‘Dirty Sausage’. And the courgette and Camembert soup — wow. Interesting, original choices on the menu. (Thanks, Chef Again, our first visit, but we look forward to coming again soon."

"It was a frosty autumn afternoon in the early part of October. I went out to meet my friend for breakfast, we were looking to hang out old school style; sausage in one hand, baps in the other. After a short talk about cafe options in Burgess Hill, and my friends Dad recommendaysh; we went to Munchies. We sat down in the bustling eatery and with one quick look at the menu my order jumped out at me like a cricket in tall grass.I had breakfast and Friend had a self made order (toast, egg, bean, hashy-b) The hostesses were very attentive making sure that we had everything. Out of all the cafes in town this one had the best breakfast selection and staff, ngl. I would say my tea was a bit too milky, however the breakfast? no complaints. The portions and the way it was cooked was everything I could have wanted from a good old fashioned greasy spoon. You can pay on card, the menu is massive and the staff are nice too.SOLID Friends comments: Great bang for ya buck, heavy on the bang."

"Having eaten here before the visit today was a stark contrast, it wasn't that busy but several tables were waiting mins for food, the service was brusk and rude I was told it was too much to ask for the mushrooms to be...put on a side plate not the main plate (nothing different in cooking prep just served on a side plate) it felt like the customers were an inconvenience. At almost for two meals and a drink, with that service I won't be going back anytime soon. I understand delays and issues can occur, but the customer service..."
