"Here on a weekend break we popped in to have a cup of tea. The food looked so good we stayed for lunch. The service was excellent, the food delicious to have our tea in a China cup saucer was the icing on the cake for me. Can’t wait to come again to visit this gem of a place"

"It's very difficult to write a review of Cobbles without using words like quaint and old-fashioned So I shan't. Put simply, this is exactly what a tea room ought to be. It's independent of any chain. The staff treat you like a human being rather...than a name on a paper cup. And it serves good, basic food with a minimum of fuss. By basic I mean anything from a cup of tea and a scone to a full breakfast (with Staffordshire oatcake a regional delicacy) or a baked potato with filling. It's all good food, well presented and fresh (scones still warm from the oven). It's well worth a detour if you are in the area, and it's the ideal place to refresh yourself before or after (or both, as we did) a Peak District walk."

"Had a breakfast here having loved the idea of food on a tin plate. I had melted cheese, bacon and tomatoes on a nice hot grilled tin plate with a couple of small but really good oatcakes. Coffee was free but not very good. The other half had a full english but they fell down here cold plate, rubber egg and very hard toast, he didn't enjoy. IMO they are nearly there, but need to scale down the breakfast offerings if this was limited to an oatcake breakfast served on hot tin plates and if they had good coffee in a mug and decent toast, it'd be 5 stars all the way. Just to reconfirm the oatcakes are really good. Also service good, the lady is nice and i get the feeling she'd sort out awkward customers without missing a beat. And the young guy making oatcakes and also serving, very personable indeed and pleasant. This is average rating based on coffee toast and not good full english but excellent in terms of a tin plate brekkie. Also fab surroundings and lovely dining area."

"A winning combination!! Very helpful and friendly staff. Lovely, unpretentious homecooked food with real chips and reasonably priced, (great prices on the 2 course deals Tues Sat), Varied menu including vegetarian and vegan choices. A clean and nicely decorated restaurant in a lovely village setting. We are regulars here and because it's very popular it does get busy so I recommend booking, even for late availability, to avoid disappointment. Dog friendly but inside it's limited to a designated dining area only so advisable to check if available. Tip: The burgers are really tasty but being steak they are cooked a bit pink which probably serves them at their best, if this is not to your liking ask for well done which they will be happy to do for you."

"My wife and I came to Blackmore with our caravan. Always on the first night we have fish and chips. Harrogate didn't disappoint. The lady who served me told me they have been there 20 years. The fish we had was excellent and cooked to perfection, chips were also very good. We will probably call again before the end of our break. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4"
