"Oh my goodness. I have my favourite Japanese spots in Edinburgh but this may now be the top. Wagyu beef tataki? Epic Japanese mayo? Beautiful sashimi? A twist on many beautiful Japanese dishes check! You won’t be disappointed and to top it the restaurant is gorgeous and the location SO central! Great for going pre/post gigs at the Queens hall or theatre trips to the Festival Theatre. We WILL be back and we can’t wait to try other menu items! Thanks for opening!"

"A really lovely restaurant. The service was warm, efficient and welcoming. The restaurant is situated up a flight of stairs which opens into a cosy room with approx 40 covers so booking is essential. I had scallops to start with a pea purée and black pudding crumb, my husband had arancini stuffed with with neeps and tatties, delicious and a very generous portion. I had chicken with pasta and a cream and tomato sauce, my husband had a burger, both were delicious. We had a lovely evening in a local independent restaurant. Highly recommended."

"My husband and I enjoyed a delicious meal at Samphire Restaurant last night. Every course was amazing but my favourite was the scallop and parma ham starter. The staff were very attentive and friendly too. Will definitely be back!"

"Exceptional cooking from the team at Condita. We were made to feel incredibly special while visiting here during the fringe. Textures, flavours and aromas all working in perfect harmony with each other. The skill on display from the kitchen was unlike anything I've ever tried before. Each stage of the meal an absolute delight. Hats off to the chef!"

"Absolutely authentic fresh sushi served from a sushi counter by experienced chefs. First time I have had chowanmushi outside of Tokyo and it was excellent. Tempura prawns, teriyaki beef, karage chicken, seaweed salad all perfect. Staff are delightful and setting is contemporary Japanese. I will definitely be back again and again."

"We received vouchers for Christmas and decided to do the Cook School and lunch package. We arrived at the Cook School and were greeted with coffee and home made chocolate chip cookies, sprout of the oven. Our demonstration began and we watched the chef, who I think was called Graham, prepared and cooked White Asparagus En Papilotte, Monkfish Noilly Prat then Strawberry Mousse all of which tasted absolutely delicious. The chef was great and shared his knowledge in a really interesting and informative way. We were then transferred by taxi to the restaurant. The surroundings were lovely, the staff super attentive and the food was amazing. The only thing I would say is that we felt a bit rushed as the plates were very swiftly cleared and the next course immediately served. A little more time would have been appreciated. At the end we were taken on a tour of the kitchen which was really just a head in the door. There were a lot of chefs working there turning out fabulous food. I would highly recommend to anyone who loves great tasting food."
