"Really our dinner here ..first they have a extremely fair bring your own wine policy..$15.00 7 days a week ..i would say thats the best in the city The food is the star of the show here No unpretentious french restarant here it is straight...shooting classic french quisine that would be at home in rural Paris...the onion soup was a huge sucess zero room for improvement As was the beef bourguignon..and the finishing touch Tarte Tatin ..truly a meal to remember..i had the table d hote menu a fantastic value at 38.00 .very close to AGO and China town"

"Not so dog friendly. Although they accept dogs here, it's not a place to bring them. The gardens in front of the hotel is the only restricted space in Kemp Town that you are not allowed to take your dogs on. There are six alternative open spaces within two miles of the New Stein. See the sign from the council. Which is absolutely terrible if you need to take your dog out for a quick break at night. The hotel also has a restriction that you are not allowed to leave your dog in the room unattended. So you can't leave them for an hour or so to go out to a restaurant or bar. Yes there are dog friendly places to go but not if you want to go somewhere upmarket that dogs are not allowed. Parking is a joke. On street parking outside the hotel is £14.80 for 24hrs pay and display. You can get a discount voucher from the hotel which is only valid in permit holder resident bays which are nowhere the hotel. That's if you can find one after driving round and round endlessly. The hotel itself is run by a French gentleman who can be very off hand with answers to any questions you have. Rooms are clean and compact. Bathrooms small with the flow of water from taps as slow as an old man with prostrate problems. Full English if you can call it that. See the pic. At £12.50 was not worth it. Which took at least half an hour from ordering. Staff were pleasant enough. Booked here because it's supposed to be AA four star and recommended breakfast. The inspector must of been Stevie Wonder."

"Worth the wait! They did a great job giving the old Saska's the facelift it so desperately needed! It's still the awesome old school hangout, with a sexy new finish! Food and drink are exceptional as always... would recommend to EVERYONE in San Diego!!"

"This restaurant does not accept reservations on open table. Although we made a reservation a month in advance they did not honor it. I complained that they had our info and could have called us to let us know so we could make other arrangements. Only then they agreed to finally seat us. The place is the IT spot right now. Arrive early on Sundays otherwise you may not get seated. The food is home cooked with love."

"Anniversary dinner with our two children, 8 and 10. We decided to sit out on the porch on a fairly humid June evening and the ceiling fans made for a nice breeze. We find most of the restaurants are overly air-conditioned, but Metro 8 didn't seem like a fridge even when we came in - that's a big plus for me! Our waitress was very nice and attentive without interfering. She noted that it was nice to see kids with books (and math in our conversation) instead of iPads. The steaks my husband and I ordered were as stated and delicious. So were the pages. Our girls loved their grilled chicken. Cocktails were good and just the right strength. Highly recommended."

"Impromptu weeknight dinner with spouse. Received complimentary bread; was cold with no butter, but could tell it was baked today. Asked for butter, received soft butter; nice touch. Ordered Suppli alla Telefono for appetizer; delicious. Ordered Fettuccine alla Ragù and Lasagna Marchigiana for entrees; both delicious. Nice host, wonderful waiter, delicious food, great experience. Will definitely return."
