"Have been to Cité Europe many times and tried all the restaurants. This one is the best. Last visit was Saturday. I had the Flank Steak again and asked for 'medium ' as 'Rare ' in France is really rare and can be chewy. The steak was...super! The chips could have been hotter but it came with a lovely salad and was a good meal. The only sauce option is onion no peppercorn or Diane which I would have preferred. Service was good but not overly quick that 's fine as long as you are not rushing for a train. Beers are great but most are high in alcohol so not good if you are driving. I had one the weakest, 'La Blanche ', which was 4.7% I think. A cloudy, blonde beer which was very nice indeed. All in all, a very nice restaurant, good value €20 for a meal and a beer) and I will go there on my next trip."

"Our usual restaurant was closed on Sunday!! We tried here as an alternative. We found a decent menu, reasonable prices great service. Food was hot tasty."

"Apéritif servi au bout de 45min nous patientons avec des nems brochettes... Pas mauvais moi qui suit pas super fan d'habitude! Suivi du wok plat vide et pareil plus de 30min d'attente pour avoir son tour. Arrive l'heure du dessert encore une fois buffet vide reste quelques bonbons et biscuit . Vraiment déçu pour une soirée entre amis 2h dans le resto pour pas grand chose. Manque de personnel dommage"

"Having arrived at Cite Europe shortly after opening, our dining choices were limited. Le Provencal seemed to be open and the hostess was busy setting tables, as we walked by she said bonjour. We decided to give it a try. The breakfast menu is simple but worked for us. We had the croque-monsieur, croque-madame and a typical fry up style breakfast. Everything arrived fairly quickly and was piping hot. While the food was basic it definitely tasted better than if eating the same in the UK. While eating we were given complimentary orange juice which was a nice touch. 3 breakfasts and 3 hot drinks came to about € 25 or roughly converted to £21. To us this seemed reasonable especially for the service we received. Also a lot of the menu was already translated to English if that isa factor for you. For a decent no frills breakfast I'd recommend trying Le Provencal."

"When to Calais for a booze run, and stayed at the B&B hotel in Coquelles (v good for a cheap place to stay). The Au Pavillon des Delices is just around the corner from the hotel, so we decided to go there as we like...Chinese buffets. It was good but not as good as some in Leeds UK. The was disappointing as there was no curry amongst other things. If you like grilled meats, selected by yourself and cooked just for you, then Ok. The other thing that was a little surprising is the price, Ok at 11 Euros during the week but at weekends it goes up to a whopping 15.80 Euros"

"We were staying at the hotel so for convenience used the in house restaurant as we have done on previous occasions. The restaurant has had a make over in the furniture and decorations but has no real atmosphere which is a real shame. Service was...not the best, the young waiter and waitress were unable to answer simple questions about the wines on offer and forgot to bring the water to the table until it was requested again. The food was average and didn't really offer a great selection, i ordered Red mullet for my main only to find that i was given a Sea Bass fillet, which wasn't even on the menu? when i questioned it the waiter said it was Red mullet at first and then went to the kitchen and came back saying it was sea bass but gave no reason for the incorrect order, the senior waitress on duty saw the problem and then tried to explain that they had run out of Red mullet, this wouldn't have been a big issue had they decided to inform us at the start of our selection rather than just swap the fish over. The desert and coffee took an age to arrive and when it did the spoon supplied was bent almost at degrees and no sugar or spoon for the coffee, given there were only other diners in the restaurant the service was pretty poor. The staff really do need some training in hospitality and the use of an iron for their shirts. All in all it was a very disappointing meal in the in house restaurant. The menu, wine list and ambience really do need to be improved."
