"Today I went with my friend to Café in Burnaby, which calls himself also a “Wonderful House Restaurant”. It was not full; just few guests besides us. We ordered as dinner combos (which came with a soup and a spring roll) Shredded Moo Shu...Pork with Pancake (a recommendation by my friend) and Sautéed Pork Vegetables with Spicy Sauce. But in order to take our order the server had to have the help from another colleague since she obviously didn’t understand English well enough to communicate. The provided tea tasted good; it had a lightly sweet flavor. But the server was not able to tell me where the sweet flavor came from. He said that it is just a black tea … My friend asked also for the password to the internet since he saw that internet from that restaurant was available. But the server refused to give him the password and referred to Shaw Open and Telus. The soup was kind of ok. I ate certainly already better ones. And I realized that on the tables were not seasoning items (e.g. soy sauce, chilli sauce) which are usually standard in such restaurants. The spring roll was not good: It was mostly dough and little filling. That’s why it was pretty dry. Also the Sautéed Pork Vegetables with Spicy Sauce quite disappointing: Almost no pork was visible when it got served; and the tofu in it was not mentioned at all. The overwhelming ingredient was just cheap cabbage. And with the Shredded Moo Shu Pork they try to cheat and not to serve the pancake. When my friend realized that the pancakes are missing and I requested them; they laughed and said something in Chinese. My friend understood that language. So he heard them talking about my demand in a way that indicated that they didn’t like that I requested the pancakes. And it took them also several minutes to make them which also indicates that they even were not prepared to make the pancakes. And the Shredded Moo Shu Pork itself was also served without accompanying Hoisin sauce. The staff of that restaurant seems to use every trick to save cost; even if it is on the expense of the service and the quality. My friend and I were pretty disappointed. I cannot recommend that restaurant if someone wants to have a good meal at a reasonable price."

"The food here is consistently good, we've never had a problem with it at all. Their group dinners are great when there is last minute guests about to come over for dinner, or just a drop in. The staff is always friendly, and the restaurant is clean. The only con to this place is the location-it is so incredibly nerve wracking trying to turn that sharp little corner and park. Definitely a recommend for anyone that is in the area that wants some good Chinese food!"

"Newer addition HKG style caffe in metrotown area. chain restaurant. beautiful and clean. service was ok and fast. eating was appropriate. hot and freshly cooked. Mini set has limited items. curry meat brisket and hainanese huhn are some of their signature dishes. great place for a quick bite."

"Since the original brother and sister mr ho owners sold the restaurant, quality and service are on the hill. the first time we had a reservation, but we had to wait 45 minutes. that never happened to the old crew that runs this business. they have also cut corners in the food they buy to cook. definitiw not as it used to be it, the familiar family friendly setting is gone, and now it is cut neck"

"As usually a very exquisite culinary and great service . Dishes are with generous portions and very affordable . We had BBQ duck, Singapore noodles, corn and chicken soup and vegetables with roasted almonds . It is a place to be visited very often … the menu is so delicious and with a great variety . We always have a great time !!!"

"They have good selections of dim sum dishes. However, congee and noodle from dim sum menu isn't good, taste is bland. For traditional dim sum dishes such as shumai, sticky rice, cheong fun, chicken feet, shrimp shumai are delicious. The place is crowded when we...had lunch there due to boxing day. Price is more expensive than the one we had in Richmond."

"I came here with the intention to try the quality of their chasu miso ramen. The pork is on the sweet side kind of the chinese pork you can get at a dim sum place. The soup based is good but not better if compared to Santouka's and I even opted for the richer soup versus their regular.Service is excellent - It takes a little longer for them to prepare your ramen since they only have 2 people at the kitchen. Overall not a bad experience."

"Lakeview is a great place for lunch specials. I go at least once a month for their salted fish and chicken fried rice. The lettuce wraps are delish! Waaaaay better tham mr. Hos."
