"We went as a table of ten. Two other couples in the restaurant. Perhaps that was the first clue. Courses were very small but tasty enough. Nothing memorable. Accompanying wines the same. Moretti beer served with the first course which was odd and smacked more of cutting corners than being a good accompaniment to the food. Valpolicella with the dessert just was all wrong the dessert was good though on its own. Then the bill. £6.50 for a bottle of fizzy water. And to top it all we were charged for extremely mediocre bread. Not even up to supermarket standards. Service was good, but the food average and charging for bread wholly unacceptable. Spend your money wisely and go somewhere like The Five Fields and have a good evening."

"This was the second Pizza Express that we ate at as a bus tour was ending. This is off James Street which is off Oxford Street for any who are interested. Lots of restaurants on James Street. We found the pizza good and the beer cold. Could not ask for more. This is near the (Thistle) Amba Hotel Marble Arch for those interested."

"Horrible experience. When i actually think now i don't even know why we stayed to eat there. Waited long to order. The server wiped the table with hand so people could sit on table next to us. One dish was to greasy. Food was not good. Not for the money u pay for. Nothing was good!"

"Ideal location if you have a spare half an hour before a show at the Noel Coward Theatre which is opposite, Pepe is pizza served hot and fast, and in squares, and their toppings are exciting yet traditional. One wasn't actually enough for me (or maybe I was feeling particularly hungry) but I ended up going back for seconds. However, beware the long lunch queue."

"I 've always had a high regard for 'Il Posto ', but standards have fallen. We were served three (modestly sized) pieces of garlic bread. My host said: 'So are we supposed to cut one of them in half? ' After his protest we did eventually get a fourth one. Then the wine no wine list offered. Asked for Frascati a standard Italian wine. Don 't have. Made another suggestion don 't have. Okay they did come up with something acceptable. Food was actually fine, but this kind of 'don 't have ' (as though it 's your fault for asking) is totally unlike my past happy experiences."
