"Amazing place to enjoy a tasty cup of coffee in a nice location “uptown Waterloo”. Good place to invite a friend on a cup of coffee. They offer a good selection of coffees and bakeries at an affordable price. There are two seating areas one inside the coffee and the other is opposite to it, so in term of space is enough. The Cafe’ is a part of Princess Twin Cinema which is a nice place to watch classic movies at an affordable price $9 for students). Anyways, this is a perfect place to explore the Canadain cultural aspect in Waterloo."

"Great variety of food, good portions on my sandwich. I forget the name of it but was a grilled cheese sandwich with pameal bacon and fried egg on 7 grain thick toast. That with onion rings, including tax, came to $19+.Kid-friendliness: Casual atmosphere, stools and chairs."

City: Waterloo, 667 chemin Bondville | Auberge de Joli Vent, Lac-Brome, Quebec J0E 1R0, Canada, J0E1R0, Waterloo
"The Joli Vent Resto was basically recommended to us by our hosts from La Venise Verte B&B, as well as the nearby information centre's clerk. It was our last evening in Knowlton. My wife and I wanted to cap our stay by enjoying a formal...dining experience. We understood that the menu at The Joli Vent changes monthly. So, if you're reading this today, and it's not August chances are the menu will have been updated. We made our reservations (highly recommended) and were greeted cordially. We had a lovely table for two by the window. Our hostess provided the menu along with the wine list. Again, the menu is prepared for that month. Chef Hans selects seasonally grown products (mostly local) and prepares them with extreme care. We are always aware of how we are treated and rate each location/establishment by the quality of customer service. So, basically, if customer service is poor, the quality of food from the kitchen will also be equally reflected. The Joli Vent Resto surpassed all our expectations... to some extent. Before I begin to tell you about the food, Knowlton (Lac Brome) is well known for their duck (canard). We had already experienced it elsewhere, so decided to try something different. Now, let's chat about the food: The menu is not extensive, but well thought out, both in the starters and main (entrées). My wife decided on the braised pork shank. I chose to bless my taste buds with the lamb stew. My wife's meal was absolutely superb (I tried it, of course). On the other hand, I was unpleasantly surprised. The stew was completely overpowered by the red wine used in the sauce a bit too much. And, perhaps a bit too long sitting on the stove. Lamb cuts are fairly delicate. It doesn't take much to spoil it. The sauce was a somewhat bitter. And the meat was chewy. The chanterelle mushrooms (even more delicate) were black and faded into the background. Tasteless. Now, I could have sent it back, but wanted to give it time for my taste buds to accustom perhaps to some flavour I hadn't had before. It didn't work, and I partially finished it. All in all, we still enjoyed the experience of trying something different. For dessert, my wife chose to decline. I, on the other hand, went with the cheese plate. Let me be very specific, it is a lovely cheese plate! Just the right amount of cheese, perfectly selected with appropriate accoutrements. We completed the evening with espresso (awesome) and cognac. Now, for the ambience: The décor is relaxed and nicely decorated. The table linen is fresh and soft. Cutlery well kept and clean. Flowers by the window were also fresh. Bottom line: Would we go back? Absolutely! Would we recommend it? Without hesitation! Did we enjoy it? Yes we did... and so will you!"

"Delicious wrap! I got the crispy chicken and it was so yummy! The fries were perfect and I was excited about the pickle ^ ^ The portion was perfect and maybe even a bit big for me! I really enjoyed the cheese flavour you get when you bite into it! Also had the cauliflower soup which was good! Our server was very sweet and paid attention to detail. "We were shown our seats in a functional manner, without a warm greeting. The atmosphere was calm, small townish. Table server was prompt, monitored appropriately, yet an offer for a coffee warm up would have been nice. The menu does have a broad selection of...North American foods. The Reuben and chicken melt sandwichs were good. This is a safe place to eat with decent food and no surprises."

"Great selection for a seemingly small chain of coffee shops (compared to the tim hortons which is next door on both accounts). Cheaper than Timmies by far too."
