"Superb food, friendly and intelligent service. Great kids' menu! Some of the mains could have been larger, as could the salad (that was supposed to be shareable but wasn't), but some items were not charged for, so 5 stars it is!"

"Across our pre-booked group of a dozen, there was a fair range of opinions about the food, ranging roughly from adequate to good (though everyone agreed it was somewhat pricey). In contrast, our views about the quality of the service were pretty unanimous. The spirit of Basil Fawlty seemed to be alive and well in the manageress. Unwelcoming, curt and rude were the adjectives most commonly used in our subsequent discussion of our experience. As if our presence (and the £300 plus of trade we represented) was a somewhat inconvenient or unwelcome intrusion on what otherwise seemed to be a rather quiet Saturday lunchtime. No-one left with the intention of ever eating at the Baker's Arms again, I'm afraid"

"The meals and service are great but dogs are only allowed in the bar area (which is fine) BUT you can’t book a table not even the table for 12 so we had to arrive 3/4 hour early to get this table for our party of 12 plus 4 dogs!"

"We made two visits to the tea rooms in one day! Felt very safe with all the procedures put in place with taking our contact details with cleaned pens, anti bac our hands prior to sitting down, tables and chairs were spaced out and cleaned thoroughly before next customer sat on them. We were only in the area for a 2 night stay but with research prior to arrival found this lovely place. We had homemade cheese, tomato and carmelised onion quiche and a bacon, brie and chilli panini both delicious and served with home made coleslaw. After a walk around the lovely town it was time for our afternoon tea stop! We had the homemade lemon drizzle and blueberry sponge and the chocolate and vanilla chequered cake. Both delicious. Would thorough recommend this lovely tea room. Keep up the good work!"

"It was great. from the moment we went in and had a pre-dinner drink at the cash, to the payment of the bill of the service was error-free and eating amazing. we were a party of 4 and had the tasting menu. One of us, I don't eat meat and is gluten intolerant. it was not a problem for the kitchen in the lighthouse, nothing was too much annoyed. the very green asparagus and peas risotto with broccoli I was served while the others had their meat course was one of the best if not the best risottos I ever tasted. such price-performance ratio also at 50 pfunds per head. we have pampered ourselves in a few bottles of wine, and the young also had the cheese course, but nevertheless, good value for money and an amazing evening. we will definitely return. a must if they are all a reasonable drive away in the opposite st georges park, jcb and alton towers."
