"This restaurant is in a Hotel about a mile from town but they can arrange transport. It is worth a trip for the views alone. A stunning panoramic view of the Isola Piano and the boats passing between the Islands. It is a massive dining room with plenty of fans and great big sliding windows. Great views from every seat. In the lobby there is a remarkable set of photos from the 1940's of the owner, her family and the area. I absolutely loved them especially the May Day photo after which the restaurant is named. The lady owner could not be more welcoming, she comes and sits with you and explains the menu and takes the order. She also hand make the pasta which is delicious. Now to the food. Expect very simple home cooked food. Very fresh fish, home made pasta, fresh fruit for dessert. It is not a fancy restaurant it is like your granny cooked the food but expertly, simply and in the old way. If you want a fancier version go the the Osteria del Tonnara but if you would appreciate simple and genuine food it is the place for you. We paid 77 euros for two people for home made crab macaroni divine! Tuna ventresca with a side dish of grilled vegetables and a chocolate mouse and home made tiramasui followed by cofee and washed down with a half carafe of house white wine very delicious. We will be visiting again X"
