"Truly disappointed. I used to be a frequent customer back when they had a stall at Lotte. Sushi was fabulous!!! Very fresh-good sized rolls-great prices!! So good!! Was there a few times a week. Just got sushi for the first time at the new restaurant. Did a pick up order. Got 4 different rolls. They packaged 2 rolls in a single container which was awkward and tried to be fancy with a sad looking orange slice between. Don?t want my sushi rice tasting of orange. The rolls were"

"My husband and I had a rare nights without the kids, and we both love sushi, so we decided to try Noku. We figured it was worth a shot because it gets generally good reviews and people seem to love it. We got there and it was smaller than I imagined it would be. But that didn 't turn out to be a problem. Intimate but also spacious. It worked. We had to wait about 15 minutes (got there at 7:15 on a Thursday of a holiday weekend) but that wasn 't too bad. Our waitress was very attentive and bubbly. We both decided to get the same thing, the spicy roll platter which comes with Miso and Salad. The platter includes spicy California roll, spicy salmon roll and spicy tuna roll. Admittedly we are pretty tame when it comes to sushi (spicy tuna is our favorite), but hey, we like what we like. The miso soup was really good and the salad wasn 't bad. The ginger dressing was very strong but also not too bad. Then came out the sushi. I can 't say I didn 't like it, but I was also underwhelmed. Sure, maybe I don 't know what good sushi is. But every piece had an overwhelming taste of ginger, or something bitter or burning. It 's tough to describe. The tuna and salmon were vibrant in color, bitch again, the taste just wasn 't my favorite. We can get those rolls elsewhere, and they taste better. I can 't complain about the price though. $24 for the soup, salad, and three, 8-piece rolls. Would I recommend this place? Probably. The staff, at least is great. And I am sure part of my issue is just not being a big sushi connoisseur. But hey, we like what we like."

"We usually enjoy our visits to Vino Bistro, but this youngest one was disappointing. We only got our food 1 hour after sitting. The restaurant wasn't full. The Appetizers were good, but the Entrees were mainly disappointed by the Bagel and the Lox. The bagel was small with a small amount of salmon, a creamy cheese, some onions and capers. The side was a small bowl of melon...$18. The salmon sandwich did not arrive as described on the menu. The drinks were small and very pricy. Not sure we'll be back soon."

"Went to lunch with a friend of mine who owns his own special cup at the restaurant. A cup that turns from Blue to purple depending on whether ice is in it!Right from the onset, the restaurant has a very casual and comforting appeal. It's quietly nestled on 3rd Street next to the antique store on Magnolia.Cruising into the front door, we met Miss Ellen, the owner. She gave us a warm and hartefelt welcome!After perusing the simple but tempting menu I decided to order chef salad. My friend ordered spinach chicken salad.We were free to get our own drinks. So my friend filled his blue glass up so that he could see a completely purple vessel. I filed an ordinary red cup and proceeded to get Coca-Cola.It was lunch time and the line ahead of us was tucked deep with customers We didn't have to wait long for our meal to show up.Miss Ellen was hard at work in the kitchen! Our meals had a beautiful plate presense.As I dug into my chef salad, prepared with very fresh ingredients, a taste-filled honey-mustard dressing and wonderfully prepared croutons, I did the Eating Moan as I call it. Each bite was a taste Journey.I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that is looking for a simple but fine dining experience!!Kudos Ellen... YOU NAILED IT!!!!"
