"We had Sunday lunch in the conservatory, main window catch broken, window closed--temperature must have been about 35 degrees. The good selection of vegetables were nicely cooked but the roast beef was almost inedible--there is tough and there is tough--this was very tough so we will not do Sunday lunch again."

"Stopped in here today for the festive baguette as it had been advertised on the Facebook page. Yes the place looks a little shabby chic but you cannot fault the warm welcome and excellent food and drink. Great location if you fancy a walk on the moors and dogs allowed."

"Myself and husband visited this cafe after coming to Dartmouth via the steam railway. We were allocated a table and given a menu to look at. The young girl serving/waiting and obviously general help was very efficient. We requested a sandwich and a bowl of chips with curry sauce. I can’t eat a whole sandwich so we asked for one to share. We were told in no uncertain terms that no we had to have a meal each along with a drink each. We were like WTF! Never have we been told that in any cafe/restaurant .. regardless of it being in the UK or abroad. What a ridiculous and money grabbing scheme this is. The sandwich’s we ordered were very nice and hubby enjoyed the curry sauce with his chips. Not a lot of choice of hot drinks, hubby cannot have dairy so tea/coffee was out of the question. No green tea (his preferred hot drink)!so he settled for a sprite. We have visited this cafe on other occasions in the past and were more than happy with the good service and tasty food. However, on our next trip to Dartmouth I feel we won’t be going back. Disappointed. What should have been around £10 was nearly £30… for 2 sandwiches, 2 drinks and some chips curry sauce."

"This caffe offers an excellent location and a fantastic view. they have even made far glasses available for their males, as they look over the breakwater. the staff is friendly, helpful and very friendly. the whole caffe is clean and beautifully decorated. they have a decent menu of floor tiles and sandwiches/ panninis, as well as baked carrots with various fillings/fills. there is also a selection of cake to go with coffee and tee. they also make breakfast / all day breakfasts that I suspect are cooked from fresh ingredients from scratch, although we 't try these as for once we felt like something else. (scrambled ei is apparently an option to a small extra cost (50p) the ice cream selection is good, not only a standard freezer full of Walls basics. eating is reasonable and comes in decent portions. it makes a good stop on a walk or to lunch with a view. only two things that took it. from 5 stars to 4 stars: the child food was served in a box (like a happy eating). ideal for farewell, but not so useful when eating. the chips were from frozen chips. fortunately they were fried, which made a difference. they were certainly hot, but not real chips. the fish (for fish and chips) was not a fresh fish. it seemed to be the prepared frozen broken filets. not as tasty as some unfortunately, but ok. the pizza-drill was also a small gland, although it was pfefferoni. I understand that it can be difficult for a small caffe at the end of the high season to supply home cooked food from fresh ingredients, but that was, imho, a missed opportunity."

"We have been staying in beautiful Noss Mayo for 4 years and always enjoy our visits to the Swan. Whether we are eating or just having a drink the service and quality is fantastic, and we are made to feel very welcome. The food menu is really interesting, with something for everyone the blackened cod is a particular favourite of ours and is always beautifully cooked. There seeems to be a good mix of locals, blow ins and holiday makers which gives the pub a really lovely atmosphere and the view from the outside decking area (which is covered to allow for the British weather) or the quay is the icing on the cake . If you are not within walking distance of the pub parking might be interesting in the summer, and I would definitely recommend booking a table if you want food. Star of the show is Harry the black labrador who adds to the charm of the Swan and is such a lovely gentle character, greeting all 'his ' guests with a friendly wag of his tail before going for a dip in the creek."
