"We ate here three times over the course of a six-day stay in Barcelos and we would have gone back if we had more time. This is the best kind of family-owned restaurant. The service is attentive and friendly. The food is a nice cross of traditional Portuguese dishes and more Mediterranean-influenced fare with some standards that would appeal to anyone. We tried roast veal, fish dishes, hamburgers and the very special Franceshina (not to be missed). The vegetable starters were all great (roast mushrooms were a particular treat). The desserts, made in house, were also top notch. Everything from the wine recommendations to their ability to meet special dietary needs showed that the owners of this restaurant know what they're doing and care about their customers."
