"We arrived at our booking time of 7:30 and were seated promptly and ordered drinks, shortly after we ordered food. Two starters took an hour to come, we had to chase them for it. Mains then arrived at 10, after having to chase them for it again. Hardly any communication from the staff, waitresses are very unprofessional and treat you like a friend (not in a good way) rather than a customer paying for a meal. Waitresses look confused a lot of time too and seem like they don’t understand what they should be doing. Food was good and the only saving grace was the manager. When we asked for the bill a £30 service charge was added which we refused quickly. We asked to speak to the manager, we had to wait 10 minutes to speak to him because the waitress forgot to tell him and I had to find him. We got 50% off the bill. We’ve been to Middletons a few times, and the last time we went there were issues too, seems like they never get resolved and something needs to change asap!"

"A minute walk from the city centre's other JDW. Nice to see plants on the way in, although upon closer inspection they were artificial. I had a pint of Pitbull, very good and a vegetable burger with chips and side of roasted vegetables Food wasn't the best with chips quite soft and no effort to present the meal on the plate. Bar service was good though."

"I absolutely love this cafe and it is vegan, it is definitely my go to place when in Leicester. The food is sooo delicious and the cakes are mouth watering, and the best part is no animals have been harmed! All of the staff are so lovely and it is situated in a very impressive old building with lots of comfortable seating. It is such a calming atmosphere, and yes it is slightly more expensive but the menu is awesome and the quality of the food/drinks is amazing, you won't be disappointed! Can't wait to come back soon, especially for more cake!"

"Sat for lunch and not recognized how big the portions would be! (over) ordered lotus root, mapo tofu and huhn with kartoffel and clear rice. it was not excessively spicy, but the taste was amazing and the veg was perfectly cooked. I would definitely go back and try some different dishes, although I would order less or go with more people! the prices are quite standard for this type of Chinese restaurant, but it is my opinion worth."
