"Ordered two coffees and a sandwich, waited 30 minutes and received two coffees. When asked where the sandwich was were told that we hadn’t ordered one. Checked bank account when we got home only to see they charged us for a sandwich. Called to complain only to be told they can’t refund us unless we go back. Very poor service and customer service. Will not be returning."

"Went here a few years ago and really enjoyed it so we decided to have a takeaway. Firstly, staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful and I can't fault them at all. Restaurant was also OK, a bit tired in decor but clean and welcoming. The food was really expensive though and when we got home we found the portion sizes were mean and the take away tubs were only half filled. The ribs were burnt, they actually tasted like they had been cooked in the deep fat fryer for ages were overly brittle. The prawn toast was so greasy when you bit into it the oil dripped down your fingers and the edges were very burned from being in a deep fat fryer too long. The ginger beef was overpowered by the ginger, its all you could taste and was cut thick and chunky so was really unpleasant in texture. The beef was grey and chewy. The duck and the hoison sauce was cold when we opened it and just didn't seem very fresh, again looked like it had been cooked in a deep fat fryer. The best thing was the crispy seaweed but came in the TINYEST tub, was literally one spoonful each. Had we known the portion sizes were going to be so small we would not have bothered. Finished still feeling hungry and disappointed with both the food quality and quantity, especially having had to leave the ribs and prawn toast, they really were very unpleasant."

"I visited the roommates with friends for our Christmas dinner. we had ordered beforehand in the Christmas menu, which was a varied choice. my lunch of röstlamm was fantastic, and 3 others had the Christmas cake that was just as good. the pub was very busy and the staff was friendly, efficient. a great visit as always, fantastic eating, good value for money. will be back for another visit."

"We had the perfect Sunday afternoon at the Balmer lawn hotel. On a lovely sunny afternoon we enjoyed pre lunch drinks on the terrace, listening to live music in the Lodge outside restaurant. Very chilled atmosphere and an amazing female vocalist put us in a great frame of mind for our fabulous Sunday lunch in Beresfords restaurant, which didn't disappoint. If you like good size portions of well cooked and presented food, delivered with humour and professionalism then you will love this restaurant. Post dinner cocktails on the terrace rounded off the perfect day."

"Whenever you are in Ringwood you must visit the fish inn (booking ahead recommended). Judith and Simon the chef/husband run an exceptional Inn with proper, awesome home made/cooked food with courteous, polite professional friendly service. We definitely recommend chefs homemade steak and ale pie, just full of meat and flavour off the scale. Sunday lunch is a must with local roast meats and vegetables cooked perfectly. I guarantee you will love the food , friendly service, oerfect location right by the river, and like us will be must go to place"
