"I post this review again because it was removed, I was dinner on 25 January 2022 in pickup evening. I ordered the orange huh and a series of the dumplings...was sad to see that the kitchen staff didn't wear their masked wearing the woman didn't wear one on...all and the gentleman had his down under his kinen. my food sat on the counter for about 5 minutes before it was sacked and brought out. the orange huh was very good, but I expected beautifully steamed dumplings instead of I bite deep fried . they were cold and hard and chew. everything I would give to restaurant 3 of 5 stars. I was in town for a date and spent the night and I read so many good things that I couldn't wait to try the food. the young man on the theke was very polite and patient with me as it was my first time there....maybe if I try to eat there again, I will ask more before I order"

"What an amazing and charming place this place was! We stopped on our way to Cape Breton and I can't imagine a perfect meal and evening. The food was some of the best we had in Nova Scotia, which says a lot, and everything was hot. The service was quick and perfect, which is not the same, and the staff was all very friendly, personal and so helpful. Everything here combines a beautiful and intimate atmosphere that feels so special. The fed duck was to begin to die and we made sure that not a bit of it went to waste. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the sauce and accompaniments complement each other perfectly. While we don't save much space for dessert, the cocktails we had in the evening were fantastic. Recommend both the Lemon Drop and a Gin and Tonic with Steinharts Rhubarb Gin. Make this place a stop on your next trip in the area. We look forward to our next visit!"

"This is the best Swiss Chalet I’ve been to and I’ve been to many in my day. The service was excellent and the food was definitely up to snuff. Big points for cleanliness!! Although it was very busy we didn’t get the feeling that the place was about to reach critical mass. The team handled themselves very well. Thank you all for a lovely dinner."

"We happened here by chance and so glad we did. After our first meal, we returned twice more and plan to visit our next time to PEI. The food is fresh and delicious, made with local produce. Nice to know that there isn't even a fryer in the kitchen! It is a true family restaurant with caring owners."

"Never having been to New Glasgow before, or even Nova Scotia, it was always a bit hit and miss where would eat. But the West Side Bistro was everything we hoped it would be. The owners were delightful and interesting - and the food was excellent. Enjoyed every mouthful."

"The food was very undelightful. But the customer service was outstanding. I entered the location very distraught after loosing my pet cat. The employee was so king and helpful. She provided a free therapy session and spent hours consoling me until she had to close the store. I came in a fee days later just to visit my newfound friend, and slipped on the floor. And who came rushing out to save me but the lovely Miss Anna! Anna saved my life both mentally and physically. Well done Anna"
