"This is our local caffe, which is a fantastic caffe. the owners have their own allocation close by using the products from the gardens in their daily dresses. eating is always truly charming. the prospects are also hard to beat and there are great vegetarian options on the menu."

"Chesters is a wonderful vegetarian caffe directly at a very picturesque flow. the variety on the menu is great and the food tastes excellent. very friendly staff and good service. would definitely recommend this beautiful little caffe. also very doggy friendly, whatever is a bonus."

"Yewfield is a family-run guest house and is an impressive building in eighty hectares of terrain, in a very quiet location, so if rest and way from her all are your thing, it is perfect. Yewfield is ideal for hikers, with many walks directly from the front door and Hawkshead village is just a short distance to either walk or drive. There are self-catering apartments on the back of Yewfield if you prefer to do your own thing, and we will see to stay here in the future, as we also like self-catering. We have booked three nights to celebrate the birthday of hubby and our wedding anniversary, to stay in Vale View, a suite in front of the house with magnificent views over the valley. Vale View is a beautiful room with a large bed, a sofa and a seating area, a large TV, a music system and a DVD player, tea and coffee facilities and a huge bathroom with a massive jacuzzi tub and a walk in the shower, just the ticket after a long day walking. Thanks to Covid you order breakfast during the night, via a website link that was sent before your visit, which worked well during our stay and you can either dine in the beautiful clogged dining room or conservatory. There is a good selection of breakfast options including continental and cooked breakfast, with oats, almonds and soy milk and vegan spread available. The food was delicious, the porridge with maple syrup was exceptional, so we had it every morning and hubby loved the discarded tofu and had it every day. There is a guest lounge where you can read or just relax and I bet his beautiful in winter with a glowing fire. On the first floor landing there is a seating area, with a selection of DVDs to see and take a guest refrigerator with a selection of vegetable milk and jugs to the room. We enjoyed our visit to Yewfield, we had a great time, even if the weather was false rain for our three days there and will definitely be back. Very recommended."

"I had the best vegan / vegetarian not Indian meal in this restaurant. they will not miss meat when they eat a meal here because they make VE food taste and look so good. this place is absolutely fantastic directly from the service, to decor, ambiente and the quality of food. it's not cheap, but it's worth every penny. they also need to book in advance to avoid disappointment."
