"The Saltwater Grill has been a Galveston staple for some time. I was encouraged that the menu has been updated with new items, while preserving some of their best offerings - I swear the Shanghai Delight is laced with Prozac because I'm always happy when I eat it. This time I tried one of their new "naked" offerings, hoping the fish would be allowed to shine. I had the grilled redfish, which was done perfectly - the very thin edges were a little crisp and carmelized but the fish was still moist and flavorful. I did miss the bread - this was one of the few restaurants in town that started with something with substance, so I was quite disappointed when a little crock of crackers appeared instead of bread. The restaurant is very noisy - I was ok hearing my companions but certainly couldn't hear the server well."

"Food was very good and in a great location. One customer, Del, has his own chair, available to him only 24/7. He has his own special mug and special price of $1. He comes in 2 times a day and has 2 beers and has been doing this for many decades. Check it out, pretty cool story and I'm told he doesn't like to be bothered."

"We’ve been here a few times and have always enjoyed ourselves. On our latest visit we went for brunch and tried their avocado toast, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon roll, side of seasoned tofu scramble—and tasted a bite of our friend’s carrot pancakes. Everything was good but especially the tofu scramble. Probably the best tofu scramble I’ve ever had. I highly recommend pairing it with the biscuits and mushroom gravy. The fig orange latte is also worth trying especially if you’re a fan of the cafe nico at Vivace"
