"We have come home after two wonderful days in brovey lair. our room was large, bright, clean with a nice comfortable bed. the breakfast cooked by mike is cal mex so that they get exotic fruits, yogurt and then maybe huevos rancheros or French toast (and they can sleep late because tina does not make early morning, but then also not we but they really come here to dinner because tinas cook is at a very high level in the did. a few games for what could be on the menu are enough. Halibut tagine is cooked with vegetables first and the healed later added, which is possible to the beautifully cooked healed it, together with cherry tomatoes, aubergines, paprika, oliven, saffron, pickled lemons and orzo with pine nuts and sulanas made for a large plate. in the second night we started with king scallops cooked with saphir (only in the season for a few months we heard) with Chinese five seasoned and sesame, followed by mönchen with soba nudeln. their ingredients are top quality tinas liberal use is seasoned to improve and support the taste of fish instead of overwhelming. this is cooking at a very high level in the did and if in the equation it is an additional suppening course, which is on the same level as anything else, then what they pay is something of a bargain. the wine list is short, but contains some very good bottles all under £40. All penetrated is the theatre that is a lot of part of the experience here. it helps to be sociable as tina and mike are very chatting. Finally, it is her home, but it helps everything to add the experience as they are treated as hospitable on her dinner party. we had a fantastic time with some beautifully cooked food and will be back as soon as we can. thanks tina and mike!"

"Went for lunch last sat 29th September 18. No one serving at the till , most of the meals were unavailable. Tables were piled high with uncleared tables , self clearing trolley was full. The floor was dirty with rubbish laying around . Not enough staff on duty"

"Off the beaten track, small but very good menu, I had a toasty and it was excellent, also shared some sweet potato fries, some of the best I've had. It is attached to a conference centre, probably where most of their trade comes from, lovely surroundings excellent seating area outside overlooking fields, also quite with mo traffic noise. Definitely one to recommend"

"If you're looking for somewhere a little different for coffee, a light lunch or even a meal in Thetford it's definitely worth giving Julio's a go. The boat is often busy and noisy but you'll get a friendly welcome and good value food. The omelette with salad is a good lunch choice at just £2.50 and the giant hot dogs are a hit with my kids. If you want an authentic experience rather than your usual chain job, give this a go. It's on the river right opposite the Travelodge."

"We found this pub after visiting the excellent water gardens at nearby Gooderstone. It is simply a real gem of a country pub. Real ale, real cooked food, real warm welcome, dog friendly. Proper home cooked pies with a real crust. Well worth seeking out!"

"We moved into the area earlier this year and have visited The Chequers for dinner three times. Our most recent visit was the last Friday in the month which is Fish Chip Friday Excellent food on each occasion and absolutely hugh portions. A good...regular menu and specials board also. Prices are reasonable. Fabulous old country pub, good ambience and very good service. We love it here. Thank you Chequers!"
