"Got to Canberra late in the evening. freezing cold out. didn't want room service and was peckish for a bit of Thai food. I'm in luck Trip advisor has told me there is this place 5 mins by car or 12 mins walk. I get there its not packed but still very busy.Didn't want to over eat so just ordered the Chicken Satay and a chicken Pad Thai.Out comes 4 satay chicken sticks with a small dish of crushed peanuts in satay sauce.Wow nice starter. starting to feel warm now have had 2 glasses of house white and main meal of chicken Pad Thai has just arrived. Pad Thai when cooked properly with all the trimmings and the wedge of Lemon on the side to squeeze over it. So yummy.Its like an explosion of crunch from the peanuts and sourness of the lemon on the noodles. aghhhh back to Thai Heaven. Glad I didn't order another dish as servings were very generous. I had 2 glasses of wine with my meal and he bill came to $29.Coming back again to try the other traditional Thai dishes."

"Such a let down. The ambience was fabulous, the setting outside was beautiful in the sun, a busker playing acoustic guitar, we honestly thought it couldn't get better as the place was quite busy.<br>
We ordered the bacon and eggs benedict for $14.90, cafe latte, hot chocolate and pancakes with caramelised banana and maple syrup $17.90 (charged an extra $5 for a scoop of ice cream and cream). The E&B benny appeared on a very small slice of sourdough with a small piece of bacon and 2 very small poached eggs. The hollandaise was a very peculiar runny frothy milky liquid which was entirely reminiscent of not Hollandaise.. The pancakes...well devo. When paying $18 for pancakes you expect homemade, fluffy cakes of goodness right? Not Tip Top, straight out of a packet from Woolworth's, cheap and nasty. "With ten of us coming in, we let the chef choose the menu for us, and were so glad we did. An Argentine/Spanish fusion with the odd eclectic bit tossed into the amazing salads and awesome lamb, pulled pork or enchiladas. Great service, good wine selection and terrific atmosphere, The Elk and Pea proves that Canberra eateries can have real soul and heart."

"An unexceptional breakfast with coffee that was one of the worst in town. So, so disappointed. Have given this potentially fantastic venue two chances now having tried dinner last week... had to go and ask for service from one of the 5 staff having a confab behind the bar. We were one out of two tables dining (same this morning). Won't be back."

"Perhaps they know the caravan of april as “Peddler of quirky vintage items”, after they set up a shop in Bailey’s arcade in civic at the beginning of the last year. the scenic small caravan next to broddog, complete with fake grass, a garden arch and white baggage fences? that is their new outpost – miss mae milkbar. While someone could comment with a loose brain mouth filter [as I] “Hah, it looks like dame edna went camping”, the fact is that the portable garden front and the entire concept of caravan were brilliant ideas, give a very cooled mood and sit down from the rest of the stands. the crew of miss mae is super friendly and serves them a big smile...read more"

"Sitting at the bar in front of the kitchen for breakfast and watching fritters being reheated in a microwave. Really?? Basic hygiene also being ignored by many staff in the kitchen handling 45min wait for breakfast that should have taken no more than 10min Food not worth the wait, bland and tasteless as well A disappointing experience overall."

"This is a great choice for a contemporary Indian meal in Canberra. Situated in Lonsdale Street, Braddon in a hideaway location at the back of a building Darbar shines for it's food.We enjoyed the Chef's Special salmon entree, a truly delicious chicken biryani and the prawns and scallops. The wine list was good and the service acceptable if a little slow."
