"Beautiful fish, I had monks while my wife had dover sole, chips were disappointing, tho the fish was nice, my wife felt a cook that they were both cooked at too high temperature, as the broth crumb coating was very crispy."

"Friendly chap served us. Quirky interior. Coffee was delicious but haddock was very disappointing, tartar sauce was very bland for homemade. Batted on fish stayed crispy for under a minute then turned soft, didn't have any flavour and was rather small the price. Also for that price homemade chips would of been much better. coffees and haddock and chips at lunch time Won't be going back sadly."

"After 3 weeks in Scotland, this was our worst meal experience. We ordered 1 sausage roll (warmed up), 1 slice of cake and 2 coffees after being told we couldn’t have soup as the hot plate was broken. We were served a cold sausage roll and a pie! The sausage roll was replaced with a warm one and the pie with a very dry piece of cake. The coffees were small and barely warm. Instead of complaining again, we paid 16 pounds which we thought was excessive and queried only to be told,”yes we are expensive”. We don’t mind paying for good service and quality food,but this certainly wasn’t the case today."

"This was a surprisingly fantastic food, setting the Kyle Hotel apart from anywhere else we had been in Scotland. Even the breakfast was better than the standard hotel breakfast."
