"Pulp did not live up to the expectations set by the other reviews here. The price/performance was terrible; this place would get crucified in Melbourne. The steak and chips was ridiculously overpriced - 80% of the plate was cover in fries that may or may not have been McCains fries (embarrassing if restaurant-made). The tagliatelle was amazing in the sense that every ingredient was cooked to perfection but somehow the overall result had zero flavour. Still, dessert was excellent as were the staff who looked after us (hence the 3/5). Ultimately, I won't go back."

"I have eaten the trend at my last visit in the hamlet and ordered a carving from a bratwurstplatz. I'm rolling. it was probably my best decision of the day – the brathaus is one of the newer additions to the hamlet and offers seductive sausage and carving in German style. "I've been coming here on an irregular basis for decades. The quality has varied wildly (last time was awful), but this time a smiley face. I was taken for Mothers' Day so I can't comment on the normal a-la-carte menu. I rather like the rustic decor, in the manner of a slab hut; it's cosy, warm and welcoming, and having the fairy lights on the ceiling lifts what has been, in the past, a rather dark ambience. It might be a little cosy for kids but at least they can run around outside during the day. Anyway, for a set menu, it was quite fine. Loved the 'home'-made savoury bread roll with plenty of whipped butter. The Barramundi was beautifully cooked and prepared, and came with perfectly cooked winter vegetables.The wine list is basic but reasonably priced compared to other restaurants around Canberra. Green Herring does pay lip-service to food intolerances (ie. gluten-free bread on request), but if the diner is serious about this, or vegetarian, I'd probably go elsewhere. In general, the food is good, tasty and unpretentious but, that said, it's not cheap; and, given that, the wine glasses could be of better quality (as another reviewer has commented). You need a vehicle to get there but parking is easy and free. Overall, a good, friendly local which has endured."

"From the welcoming waitress to the clean venue and tasty food, the whole breakfast experience was great. They have also got some incredible hot sauce if you are a chilli fan. Took away one star as they charge an unnecessary surcharge for payment by credit card... just factor this into your costs/charges. Other than this, everything else was fantastic"
