"Lovely restaurant and pub. Could not fault the service or the meal, it was served with a welcome and the food superb. I had the sea bass and my husband had the fish and chips, All the staff very friendly and not in your face, left to enjoy the meal without any interruption's but they were about it you needed anything. Would recommend The Fish to everyone, its a hidden gem."

"I always come to eat and drink at The Chequers when I'm visiting my family; food is always perfect and the drinks, well...you can' mess up a good beer. Staff is consistently extremely welcoming and accommodating to myself and my family, which makes coming to The Chequers a must-do. This past trip in was especially memorable as the manager dealt with my questions about the rib eye sauce as well as graciously parting with a Cotswold Brewery pint glass. So, wether you're visiting from somewhere in England or from across the pond like myself, take the time to go eat and drink at The Chequers, you will not be disappointed."

"I love this place my parents owned a chippy and also sold kebabs. So I know what I'm talking about, usually pick up, but even if they're asked to deliver, they're on time. the Burger sauce is good. the chilli sauce, just not as good as my mom, but that's not enough to rate her lower!"

"Eight friends were visiting the nearby Pendon Museum and needed a lunch break. Liam and his mother were super helpful. A private room a good selection of beers (including Butcombe) and a comprehensive pub lunch menu. Those who had the sausages and mash were still talking about them as we drove home to Somerset! The Fishpie was full of fish including smoked haddock, with plenty of cheese and a giant prawn for topping. The burger was pronounced excellent too. The Abingdon brewery Loose Cannon was remarked upon too. Large Sauvignon Blanc went down well too. We did not give more than a couple of hours notice for our visit but received a warm welcome. Food and drink were exceptional. A great pub."

"It is stopped for the week for lunch with elder to bournemouth and the same comes on Friday after home. good selection of food and well appreciated. the personal was excellent, great to laugh with the nice lady (sorry has not seen her name) at the cash register and owen was very thorough and needs a special mention. we had only the woman who kept the flower shelves on the side of the caffe, did not clean up after her, there were water and soil/compost on the narrow way to the toilets, we had to stand and tell the people about the danger, until we made the caffe personal aware that then put a sign and then cleared up why the person does not do it, is a secret, she needs to retrain. in addition, we enjoyed the visit. many well appreciated plants, but as we do not buy space in the car, we have not given them too much attention. not many disabled parking slots and due to the position it was an effort for my parents to go up the stung and then all the way through the center to get to the caffe."
