"A mixup with a hotel reservation website meant that we weren't anticipated and, indeed, the hotel was on a quiet day. Good news, we were accommodated, the room was quite big and clean. Bad news, the atmosphere was pretty uncomfortable for the first 15 mins whilst they worked out what to do (Ie. presumably they were seeing if they could get out of the booking). Once there, the restaurant was shut so, all in all, not a great stay. And, frankly, by Swiss standards it was poor. In the main season, if you give them plenty of notice, things might be better."

"Terraces is a hidden gem. Tucked away mid-hill past 2 pedestrian zones from the railway station. It's an easy walk and well worth the stop. Cheese fondue arrived bubbly hot with a dollop of whipped cream and bread for dipping. Call me crazy, but I took an apple with me as I like the contrast between the flavors. The kitchen was kind enough to cut it up for me. Service was efficient and very nice, like having your sister wait on you.Visp is quite a nice town with lots of historical buildings. It's worth the trip to both."
