"I have always found the quality at Belper Fish bar good however following a visit yesterday it will be a long time before I go there again! The chips were disgusting and not fresh and if I could make a guess they were lunchtime leftovers. It was also disappointing that we couldn’t sit in to eat given that most places are now open. I also question quantity given and the potential for waste as surely this is something to be considered for the environment. Very disappointing that standards have dropped as this used to be the best fish and chip shop in Belper."

"Further to a previous review yes, the GF availability is great but we've now had a couple of meals that could have been better. The chips were flabby and rather greasy, and my fish was 90% batter. But, no doubt we'll try again."

"Second time this year and on both occasions the service was almost instant, because nobody was waiting and that explains everything. I visited at what should have been their peak time and nobody was there, the service was rapid because the fish and chips had been cooked a considerable time before I arrived and were sitting there going cold. This tepid meal was served with quite possibly the thinnest and most watery curry sauce I have ever had the misfortune to eat. To be honest it went straight into the bin as it had no consistency. All this overpriced, low quality fare was served by quite possibly the most uninterested staff known to mankind. From a takeaway that once had a great reputation this is truly saddening. Never again shall I go there and I suggest everyone else does the same."

"FANTASTIC FISH CHIPS! I was a regular at Georges before Nik took over, and I have not been disappointed! Lovely service and the food is gorgeous too. Keep it up, Nik and the team!!"

"Very disappointed. We ordered a bottle of Merlot we were told they didn't have a full one but had one with a bit out! obviously we declined that and chose an alternative. After we ordered we waited an hour for four meals there were only two other tables in at the time. both me and my mum chose the seafood linguini. It was awful it contained frozen fish and honestly you had to rummage through the pasta to find any. My sister had the gammon and it was dry. Only one member of staff was on very young and was doing everything. Very polite but we wouldn't recommend eating here"
