"We have not yet had a bad experience at Mason 's. Curiously tucked into a little space that faces the Aberdeen rail, it might be easy to miss this breakfast paragon if you were not looking.Not to be confused with Mac 's Breakfast Anytime on Highway 1 near the border of Aberdeen and Southern Pines, Mason 's is miles away in downtown Aberdeen, what I like to call Old Aberdeen. It boasts both elevated and Southern takes on breakfast for everyone and the options don 't stop there. It 's hard not to have a great time here if you 're either selecting Belgian waffles, a refreshing play on eggs benedict, unicorn grits, or just perfectly toasted breads as thick as an encyclopedia. I have now been five times with my family of four and others and we haven 't found anything on the menu that wasn 't delicious. It 's a little harder on the wallet than most breakfast establishments, but for the price, they 'd do it absolutely right.It is a bit noisy in the echo sense. A person with a hearing impairment might wish to balance that against the promise of a great meal before deciding on this destination. But the place has a very homey, social atmosphere that is unlike any other in the area. If you go to downtown Aberdeen without going to Mason 's, you 've missed out. In fact, I would maintain that Mason 's, alone, is a good enough reason to visit downtown Aberdeen if you haven 't already."

"I went with my son's here tonight. The employees were friendly and our waitress waited on us immediately. The place was pretty clean. Music was at a good level. Had a good menu. The salsa that came with the tortilla chips was delicious! Our food was fully cooked and we didn't wait long for our order! I ordered the quesadilla fajita (chicken) and it was by far the best quesadilla I've eaten! We will definitely be returning."

"The most delicious food and drinks we had in Southern Pines! I first tried the honeymoon Mojito, who was lovely! Hubby had the classic old fashion! Yum! We tried some appetizers, the Queso, the duck wings and the dumplings. The food was phenomenal and our bartender/mixologist, Cole has excellent skills and a great personality! We could talk to the staff all day!"

"Excellent food and service, with a menu that changes based on the freshest ingredients available in season. The price point is high but it 's worth it. I 'm a Charlotte resident who drives up to the Sandhills to visit family, and this restaurant competes with any of the farm to table style restaurants in the big city. We went for the whole gambit of appetizers, entrees, and dessert. Portion sizes are generous, but not overwhelming. I would order anything that is based around what 's in season. Highlights in the appetizers were a peach and fig burrata, crab hush puppies, and the tuna tartar. Entree wise they have a wide variety of seafood and meat preps, but the highlights for us were the lamb wellington and halibut special, which honestly we could have shared between the four of us. Dessert wise we had a seasonal peach cake with ice cream, and a sticky toffee bun also with ice cream. Both were light and delicious to finish off the meal. Our service from Josh our server was excellent and efficient. Unprompted he immediately assisted getting my 90 year old grandma into her seat, and then went straight into getting our drinks and telling us the specials. All the food came out fresh and well timed, and Josh consistently checked on us without being overbearing. I would say for new comers that you could make an entire meal for the table just sharing appetizers and one or two entrees, and you all would leave happy."
