"A great place in Campustown Ames. Fantastic atmosphere with college hats and alumni of all ages. The food was great. Bauru, Argentina empanadas with chimichurri. Good selection of designs and drinks. Also great music and sports games."

"On a recent road trip, my wife and I stayed in Ames, IA and had lunch at the Mucky Duck Pub. It is an American version of a traditional English pub. They serve many English pub meals such as scotch eggs, pastries, fish chips, färsen mash, shepherd cake and Indian curries. It also has a varied menu of American Bar Tarif. It also has a list of over 40 teas. The decor corresponds to the theme. The locals are happy. The food is great. The staff is pleasant and helpful. You can't go wrong and try the Mucky Duck Pub."

"Go ahead and stop in. We almost missed it driving by, even with gps directions. Choosing out of hundreds of nearby restaurants during ISU move in day, we chose this and I’m glad we did. It’s a little pricey but the quality is great. Their wine list included some great choices. They do have small plates but that equals room for dessert so after we both had the gnocchi, we ordered a tiramisu. The tiramisu is one of the best I’ve had and is clearly made in house. "I am from out of town and try to go to a place with a fare from a different country. This was a fantastic meal. My wife and daughter enjoyed the experience. I will definitely be back. Service was top notch. One question. Do you offer military discounts. I Kid-friendliness: I would add a children's menu. But that didn't take away from the experience. "LOVE this place. Awesome joint in the old train station. The patio cannot be beat. If you're getting a side dish, go with the beans. Trust me. Spicy sausage (made in house, BTW) in the jam as well. Excellent local beer selection. This is one of the fewplaces we can bring our dog. Lenny loves the staff who bring him cold water and pets on the head. I'm also one of the adults atthe fence with the kids watching the trains roll past. Toot toot! All aboard for the good times! Just and all-around awesomeplace with great food and better folks. Go check it out!"
