Contribute Feedback What Beth Ellis likes about The Chippy:
I saw some pretty negative reviews regarding The Chippy but as it was the nearest fish chip shop to where I was staying, decided to try it. Firstly, the shop was immaculate. Secondly, greeted very nicely by the staff behind the counter when placing...my order. Thirdly, because of Covid restrictions, I was given a beeper asked to wait outside the shop while my order was cooked fresh. Fourth and probably most important... View all feedback.
What Alison Allen doesn't like about The Chippy:
Could've had a game of cricket with the battered haddock, even used it as a spanking paddle if u so wished, it was so overcooked. Maybe just a bad day, it happens. The 30% fish to 70% batter ratio was actually more disappointing tbh. The chips were tasty View all feedback.
Not the best chippy I've ever visited, but still good. a bit expensive at almost eight pounds for a fish sauce, and that was just a medium-sized filet. I will try the happy haggis chip store next time in aviemore.
Beautiful fish, black pudding and chips all made fresh. covid measures very well. mozzarella sticks tasty all inexpensive. simple parking space on the door. earlier and it will be again.
He was charged, the fish was so dry, it was like a jerk, and the teig was so soft, it was like when biting an oil filled sponge, the chips were hit and miss whether they were very soft, undercut or cracked. we went here because it was taking a gluten-free, but it is not definitiw anywhere I would recommend. incredibly disappointing meal. the oiliness make them feel a bit bad, so I would definitely recommend some gaviscon or peptac for it.
Nice eating, good value, friendly staff, would recommend
The stars are for the chips, 0 stars for the fish. The worst fish I've ever had from a chippy. Small thin and overcooked. It had shrunk inside the breadcrumb coating.
