I have eaten breakfast all over the country, and this was one of the best breakfasts I've ever eaten. I had carrot cake pancakes with smoked turkey and eggs with whole wheat toast. The honey bee latte was also incredible. Absolutely wonderful dinning experience. View all feedback.
What Robert Hayes doesn't like about Homegrown Kansas City Brookside:
I arrived at 12:24 and was put on a waitlist. The host took my number and said it would take a hour. I waited in my car for a hour and never got a text. I walked in to see what was taking long and they told me it wasn’t a wait nomore. I was confused. They said they contacted me 45 mins ago but I never received the text. They looked at me like they didn’t care I just sat in my car for a hour waiting for a text I wasn’... View all feedback.
I started coming here about a year ago, and I can say hands down that this is one of my favorite places to get breakfast or brunch in KC. You are surrounded by KINDNESS and positive people, GREAT food and the lovely buzz of neighborhood families sharing food and conversation. They change the month to reflect the seasons and use many local ingredients. It’s always such a lovely surprise when the new menu comes out because you are certain to find something that you love to eat.Today, Steve and I ordered the turkey avocado sandwich, and a new item on the menu, carrot cake, pancakes with eggs and sausage… and our waitress, Julianne (one month into her job here but worked efficiently and joyfully as if she had been here forever) delivered two exceptional meals. She wrapped the extra pancake to go.We left full and happy. You will, too! If you’ve never been to HomeGrown in the KC community of Brookside, step out of your routine and go!
Hands down the best biscuits and gravy I’ve had! Everything always tastes fresh and service was amazing!
The food was amazing! Had to catch the waitress attention a few times and there were a few knats! But the food and drinks were good!
I got the Let's Make a Toast with roasted turkey. It was great but the turkey was really dry. I also got a mint mocha latte, which was really nice.I will say it's incredibly loud and I couldn't even hear my friend. As someone who is autistic, it was overstimulating.
Always so friendly and great food! Bathrooms are always so clean and inviting!
