We drove off the Cabot Trail to go to Meat Cove with the intertion to eat at the Chowder Hut. It was rainy, cloudy, foggy, we ate inside; but it was so worth it! Had mussels as an appetizer, very fresh and tasty. Not a lobster season so my husband had Fish Cake, but I came for the chowder and chowder it was :))Delicious savoury heaven.. I truly recommend and i hope to return one (sunny) day and enjoy it again View all feedback.

This may be a great campground—it’s certainly a beautiful location, and Justin is very accommodating. I miss the restaurant that used to be up here. I drove my brother up here thinking we would get a beer and a meal. The roads are rough—it’s a long way to go for a good view. View all feedback.

"This was an interesting and delightful find as we made our way around the Cabot Trail.Danena has long since passed, God rest her soul, but her daughter carries on the tradition in this quirky little bistro, bakery, zip line spot!! Yes, you got it ... bistro, bakery and zip lining.The restaurant looks a little worn around the edges ... needs a cleaning, a coat of paint and a bit of freshening up but that doesn't detract from the good food, friendly and down-to-earth wait staff and the great baked goods. The "mac and cheese" made with a parmesan cheese sauce is very good ... add a little salt, give it a stir and ENJOY. The menu is fairly full and provides something for everyone.The baked goods are fresh and "just like grandma made them".If you have the time and inclination you can cap off your meal with a bit of excitement ... a zip line ride from restaurant level down three lines to the lake. Having done the zip lines in Costa Rica we gave it a miss but it is an option.We recommend this restaurant ... appearances aside ... the food is very good."
