"We just returned from a wonderful dinner at David’s. The setting overlooking the lake could take your breath away. Since it was Tuesday, it was date night, so we chose the couples dinner. The appetizer salads and main courses were beautifully presented. We both chose...the pickerel which was melt in the mouth texture and incredibly tasty. Desserts chosen were apple cheesecake and key lime pie, both of which were ‘lick the plate’ delicious. This is our first visit to Port Dover and we never expected to experience a gourmet dining experience. We have traveled extensively internationally and dinner at David’s is right up there with some of our finest dinners. We will be back."

"Went here for lunch after an outing with my family, the food we got was good... Although it wasn't the right food we ordered. Asked the staff to correct it and they reluctantly took it back, only to still get the order wrong. Overall a good meal with unpleasant staff. Would probably still visit again."

"With a name like the urban pariser patisserie boulangerie, we expected some along the lines of the terrace series boulangerie places we were in quebec. that's not exactly what we have. from the outside the place is inconvenient. the hotel is located in a residential complex...Night from the main train, where at least they do not have to fight for a parking lot, a sign on the first part of the building, an older one-and-a-half-storey house, says "phase 2 – coming soon". I hope this will be an indoor dining area, because currently it is a take-out just leaving where they have to take their food in their car, they take it home, or find them somewhere else nice to sit and eat it. a place to sit and eat there would be very welcome, especially for the tourist who do not live in the opposite. the second part of the building is a two-storey structure that seems incompatible with a name like urban patisserie boulangerie in industrial metal sheets. but this impression changes when they go through the door to the load themselves. a long glass counter offers a lot of colorful, attractive and tasty looking baked, brot and pizza slices. overhead boards offer an impressive offer of hot cold drinks. and a freestanding menu board at the end of the counter lists special offers of the day, such as suppe, wraps, and salate, or a combination of them (a beautiful note for those who want to try a suppe and a wrap, for example, but do not have enough space to eat a full portion of both. we went for the creamy mushroom soup (very tasty)! and a chicken sluice, which included among other pieces of apple and celery, which made it unique from any other similar package we had and added the additional taste that this package will take out for us. a few sawnepuffs and a pecan butter tea made dessert, all washed with a few coffees. Of course we had to go somewhere to enjoy these tasty bites because there is no place to eat them before spot. but a steady stream of what seemed to be local people was a certificate for the popularity of the place. it would be fun to have some French cafe music play in the background and the personal carry some outfits or clothes to add the atmosphere that the business name enchants in our heads. Perhaps the cook could carry a cooker hat and the server wearing French berets! lol, just ide! the service is friendly and eating is great. a visit worth! finger crossed that they will soon have a few on-location sessions!"

City: Selkirk (near Cayuga), 1 Main St W, Selkirk, Ontario N0A 1P0, Canada, N0A1P0
"We drove to Selkirk to walk the Wheeler's Trail in the provincial park. But with all the recent rains, the trail was too muddy. So we walked along Lakeshore to get in our morning steps. Then back to Selkirk for breakfast, we read a review last year about it and always enjoy breakfast out. Good server, good coffee, good home cooked food. My husband always orders his eggs over medium, and the yolks always come out too runny or too hard. Not this time they were just right! Really good bacon too, with a smoky aftertaste. The review also mentioned that they had great carrot cake, so we ordered two pieces to take home. Carrot cake is our favourite dessert, we order it whenever we see it on menus, so feel we can judge the offerings pretty well. I don't know what the reviewer was eating, but this was truly the worst carrot cake we have ever had. The texture was weird, very granular, almost as if made with cornmeal. It wasn't listed as gluten free, which can have a weird mouth feel. Also missing were the lovely combo of spices that you usually find in carrot cake. It was very dry. However, the cream cheese frosting was excellent. SO if we lived closer to Selkirk, this would definitely be on our list of regular breakfast spots. The carrot cake not so much!"

"A really good dinner here and our server, michelle, was very helpful in taking a pizza would be sufficient for the two ladies. the pizza was made with a flower cabbage crust that was surprisingly good, not almost as heavy as pizza with regular...pizza pot. the toppings were also very good. the men thoroughly enjoyed the apfelbrie grilled cheese sandwiches with chicken breast, cut apples, pan fried wobbles, coy jam, garlic aoli, brie and cheddar cheese on sourdough brot, along with a very good side caesar salate and I am no fan of cumshots. these were certainly not easy and they were delicious! we will return the next time in port dover."
