"Been here several times in the past and the food never disappoints. The peach salad appetizer was amazing with warmed peppers on top. The Blackberry brown butter tart with dulce de leche ice cream was also superb! Service was a tad slow and the prices have increased, though that's not uncommon across the industry. Still love the open kitchen vibe, bread, wine list and house cocktails. If you are looking for a decadent night out in Portland, ME, this should be your destination"

"Unbelievably delicious. Had the omakase, the wagyu hot pot (which was insane), the tiny whole fried crabs, the snapper head, and a flat unagi avocado roll a delicious cold sake. I only regret not ordering the duck buns...will get them next time. YUM!"

"Ridiculously good fries and fantastic Cuban sandwich. Maybe the best pork I've had on a Cuban. We've been to the Frites shack a few times before but this was the first time at the actual restaurant and it did not disappoint."

"I got the atomic patty melt and holy cow it was tasty! The mix of sweet bacon jam and spicy jalapeños was perfection. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was really nice especially for an ordering at the counter place."

"Really wanted to like this place. Made reservations for wife's birthday. Server was very new. Cocktails were good. Asked for bread. Pretty good. Wine list was very average. Not the best selection for a restaurant that claims to be too good. Server was nice but really nervous. 1. Bread was fresh and good. 2. Cocktails were very nice 3. Oyster were the best we have EVER had!!! 4. Fish was very simple and very nice. 5. Steak Frite was ok. Not much flavor. Grilled perfectly. 6. Wine was pretty warm and not real impressive on selection. 7. No free desert like thy said they would give us. 8. Desert wines were great. Correct stemware. Felt like we got ripped off with tip $600 for dinner. We spent that at the French Laundry(2 people instead of 4) but not even close to a reasonable price. The quality was just not there and the service could have been faster and more experienced. For a major birthday, we were disappointed to spend 600 for that meal."
