What Hortense Shields doesn't like about Three Monkeys:
Tempted by Three Monkeys menu hubby I were happy to wait in line for a table until Not BUT staff members ignored us to assist others that had arrived well truly after us!!! Pathetic, pretentious obviously only for those that...feel entirely entitled read more.

The large selection of coffee and tea specialties makes a visit to Three Monkeys even more worthwhile, tasty vegetarian meals are also on the menu available. Besides simple snacks and sweet pieces, we also offer cold and hot drinks and cakes, Inthemorning a delicious brunch is offered here.

"This is a hidden gem of Newcastle. Out of the way, but my freinds tell me great coffee and I also get a quality green tea here. They will tell me...x number of minutes while your tea brews before we can bring your tea pot....There are seats on the street and the street is quiet with limited traffic. Great friendly service, small but quality selection of snacks and get coffee and teas. Breakfast is quailty fare. If you have not found Welsh Black then you are missing out."

"Visited on Sunday, I will never return and I will be passing on this feedback to any family or friends considering visiting. We arrived and were seated quickly, we ordered our coffee and food. Coffee arrived, it was bitter and overly strong despite asking for...half strength and confirming with the staff that we had received half strength. They kindly remade the coffee however unfortunately it came out and was full off foam, we didn’t bother to ask them to remake it again. We ordered our food, it was very quiet, we asked for the Nasi Goreng with no chilli and eggs. We waited minutes before the waitress who took our order asked “you’ve ordered yeah” and I said yes, was a little concerned at this point. All of the tables around us received food despite coming in after us. After minutes the waitress came back over to tell us the nasi goreng couldn’t be made without chilli, they had just started our docket now after minutes. We eventually got our food almost an hour later. All the tables that had come in after us had all eaten and left by the time we got our food. Whilst the food was tasty charging for one thin slice of halloumi is a joke (see picture). The staff didn’t seem to care, to shy to open their mouths, no one admitted to losing the docket they just shrugged their shoulders when we asked where our food was. As I went to leave I went to drink some water and my “clean” cup was putrid (see photo). I am so so so disappointed and angry that I waisted my money on this crap. I will say when we went to pay the lady that appeared to be the manager was very lovely and apologetic and took all the feedback on board. She did give us our coffees for free. It would have just been better if the waitress had owned up to forgetting our docket."

"I had my first visit to the etna ende oktober. the speed of service was average, but ok – the professionalism was fundamental. we had the chicken special from huhn, ham prawns (5) in creamy garlic sauce at $38 each. serve average size – vegetables were cooked apart from the garlic, the dish lacked of taste visual appeal. it seemed like an overpriced average pub menu. I will not pack it completely, but the actual test is: would I go back – the answer: no. contempt: 30 minutes parking in the darby street."
