"We called to book at this restaurant and the staff let us know they were booked for the evening. We were tired and hungry from a long day of travel and touring, and I asked them for walk in recommendations, which they kindly provided. While I was looking into those options, the staff at Red Skye called back and had a cancellation. We hurried over and were warmly greeted by the two kindest servers we've ever encountered. We enjoyed appetizers of scallops and cullen skink soup, then main courses of Langoustines and Mushroom Risotto. My husband and I shared all of the dishes, and topped the meal off with a rhubarb/berry crumble with vanilla ice cream. The servers also provided friendly conversation and assisted us in the best route to our next stop. By far, one of the best meals and definitely the kindest, most fun staff of any restaurants we dined in. Highly recommend, but book ahead!"

"Big disappointment, do not recommend. The service was very awkward. The staff did not seem to know what they were doing or just wanted to turn tables quickly. We received our mains right after we finished our appetizers and they wanted to serve dessert right after that. We made a reservation and I had noted that I have a gluten allergy and my wife a shrimp allergy. This was even confirmed on arrival. We were then delivered canapés that were not gluten free. Then we were delivered canapés a second time that were again not gluten free. Third time we received two sets of gluten free canapés, so my wife missed out on the regular ones which appeared to be much better. The meals were odd to say the least. They were trying to be inventive, which we appreciate, but didn't find anything was cohesive. Again with dessert, there was much uncertainty around what was gluten free and was told different things each time. In the end I was not confident that the fondant that I received was gluten free. I have had much better experiences and food at other locations in Scotland."
