Pros: Excellent lechon. Very tasty, crispy skin, soft and moist meat. Cons: I hope the restaurant does something wuth the stools since some of the nails are already protruding which may cause clothing to be snagged. View all feedback.
What Jirka K doesn't like about Angkol’s Boneless Lechon:
Despite asking only for cup of rice we got full plate of it. According to waitress this is how they serve it. Everybody else we saw got regular volume so I am not sure what to think of it. We initially visited Angkol's at 3pm, assuming it was open from 11am to 10pm based on their business hours, only to discover that they are open only from 11am to 2pm and then 5pm to 10pm. This was disappointing as the gap in hours was not clearly indicated. We returned later that same night and ordered half a kilo of original lechon, adobong kangkong, and their shanghai rice. The lechon was served cold, and although we asked if it could be reheated, it was not possible. The lechon skin remained crispy, but the meat became increasingly oily, making it difficult to enjoy due to concerns about cholesterol. The adobong kangkong was decent, and the shanghai rice was plentiful enough to feed a group of four. The restaurant was not crowded during our visit, but we were informed that it could get busy on weekends. We appreciated the traditional bahay-kubo theme of the restaurant, which complemented the food well. Overall, we would recommend trying Angkol's for the experience, but suggest being mindful of the opening hours and potential issues with the temperature of the dishes.

Don't judge a book by its cover! We were staying at a nearby small hotel and didn't want to venture into town, so we decided to give this restaurant a try. Despite its unassuming exterior, we ordered their famous pork with crackling. The food arrived in just 20 minutes and it looked amazing! The crackling on the outside of the pork was crispy and the meat inside was perfectly cooked, not dry at all. It was served with tasty rice. We were very hungry when we arrived, but we couldn't finish our plates because the portions were so generous.
Their lechon is truly remarkable and exceeded our expectations. It took us two attempts to have a satisfying dining experience, as our first visit was disappointing.
