We had an excellent stay. This is an outstanding country pub in first class condition with welcoming staff and excellent food. The room was very comfortable, perhaps the bathroom is a little tiny but it is very well appointed. The food was superb really good cooked breakfast (lovely black pudding for affionados) and we had possibly one of the best steaks I've ever eaten in a restaurant. We visited the pub on a Saturday afternoon. On arrival we were shown to our table by a rather miserable barmaid. I ordered fish n chips which was really good . My wife order scampi which unfortunately was over cooked. We were both disappointed that we got frozen chips with our meal.always feel it’s a lazy option.
