I met up with old friends and found the Evenlode a great venue. The food was great and well presented. The specials board was very creative. The seating was good to as you weren't on top of each table. Nice cosy seating around bar area for an after meal coffee or just a drink. "We went here late Friday afternoon for their 1/2 price Fish Chips. We were so impressed. Firstly, I’m a vegetarian, so eat dairy and I really wanted veggie fish and chips as the husband was having F C. They have halloumi on the menu here, so I barefaced asked if they’d do some halloumi in batter so that I could have similar to the Mr. They agreed and when it came out it looked amazing and tasted really delicious, very naughty, but hey, it was Friday and looked like Fish and Chips and bonus, 1/2 price! This traditional pub just outside Bicester is absolutely wonderful, so friendly and cosy, especially with the wood burner lit which oozes the ambiance needed on a crisp Autumnal afternoon/evening. We were looked after impeccably by the staff, especially our lovely waiting person, she couldn’t do enough to make sure our stay was worthwhile. I’d come here every Friday if my waist line could take it!"

"A country pub serving gourmet food in traditional suroundings. not only was eating superb (we had slowly boiled boiled boils with crackling) cooked with everything to perfection, the staff was charming, very attentive, without being overlaid. the menu was so that the choice was not just every item was appealing. there was a good selection of beers, a super wine list including cocktails and desert wines. Although not cheap, the bill was much lower than expected and was excellent worth for money. Although it was a long trip for us, we will definitely visit again and we are very happy to recommend the white hard."
