"Had supper here a few Fridays back. Coming in its got a pretty cool nautical theme inside, shocker I know, But its certainly different than what you see around Edmonton. They led us upstairs to the other dinning room, its cozy to say the least but if I paid that much per sq. ft. in rent I'd likely stack the tables like bunk beds. The four of us of had a look at the menu and decided a bottle of wine with some sashimi would be a good start, but before she arrived to take our order decided we better add the snow crab in jerk cream sauce to that list. The wine came first, We ordered the Finca malbec. It was a decent wine but ended up lost in the food. As the sashimi came out I knew we'd come to the right place. Big juicy slabs sitting in sesame oil with scallions, lemon and lime slices and fresh ginger. They absolutely killed it. This was actually quite a large appetizer, most at the table had 1/2 to 1 slice of tuna. It was so good I couldn't stop, I ate the remaining 4 pieces(which are likely 1 1/2 to 2oz each). The snow crab and jerk sauce was no slouch either. Came out steaming hot and had a great flavor to them. We were warned they were quite spicy, but on arrival none of us could detect much spice at all. Good jerk flavor, low spice. In my opinion. Our mains came out just as we finished gorging our selves(mostly me) on the starters and First up came the steak, regular plating, nice sides and cooked perfectly. It's a steak, either good or bad, this one very good. The surf and turf tacos came out on flour tortillas with spinach, onion, steak and shrimp. I didn't try them until they had cooled off, but I wouldn't be ordering them. The spinach had wilted and I'm not sure what else was on it. Cheese or something? I don't know, it was actually a horrifying end to my meal. But luckily 2 of us ordered the king and snow crab, one naked with melted butter and one in the scallion ginger peppercorn sauce? I cant remember, it was a very delicate sauce. These were absolutely huge. Easily split between 2 people. It came in a big sauce pan tossed in pasta, at first glance I thought it was all pasta in the bottom of the dish, upon closer inspection I realized this was a bowl of giant crab legs sprinkled with pasta, just the way I like it. I'll go as far as saying this is the best seafood dish I've eaten in the city. Quality seafood always wins. Side note we asked about a few drinks that were not on the menu, she informed us they've got a full bar and skilled bartenders. We were happily obliged with our drink preferences. Something I always appreciate.Overall it was a great meal, service was spot on and the food, tacos aside, was phenomenal. The tuna sashimi and the king crab need special mention as they were some of the best seafood dishes I've eaten in the city. Not surprised coming from a restaurant that rubs shoulders with café amore. Also one of my favorite spots in the city. I don't want to end on a bad note but those tacos could use some serious revamping. Other then that I enjoyed every minute of my time there and will be back to try some of those oysters pronto."
